Abstract

L'invention concerne un système permettant de mesurer le poids d'un occupant de siège pour contrôler le déploiement d'un airbag. Ce système est incorporé à un siège de véhicule reposant sur des ensembles glissière intérieure (26A) et glissière extérieure (26B). Ces ensembles sont montés sur une structure de véhicule de sorte que la partie de glissière centrale ne soit pas soutenue. Un premier ensemble capteur (38, 40) est monté sur l'ensemble glissière interne (26A), et un second ensemble capteur (58, 60) est monté sur l'ensemble glissière extérieure (26B). Le premier ensemble capteur fournit un premier signal répondant à la mesure d'une déviation de l'ensemble glissière interne due au poids de l'occupant du siège. Le second ensemble capteur fournit un second signal répondant à la mesure d'une déviation de l'ensemble glissière extérieure due au poids de l'occupant du siège. Un processeur central (66) détermine le poids de l'occupant du siège sur la base des premier et second signaux. Le processeur central (66) communique avec le système d'airbag (70) pour contrôler le déploiement de l'airbag sur la base du poids de l'occupant du siège.
