Definitions
- the present invention relates to a convertible skirt/trouser which can be worn as a skirt and a trouser by selectively converting the garment into a skirt or a trouser.
- Skirts which are representative of women's garments, are usually worn by women regardless of age. Skirts have a variety of styles, and the design thereof has continuously changed with the times. These days, as the role of women in society becomes more important, women prefer wearing trousers over skirts because they feel more comfortable and more free to work in trousers than in skirts. Finally, both skirts and trousers have been individually developed and appeal to women. Although trousers and skirts have been developed in function and design as described above, clothing capable of being used for multiple purposes by combining the beauty of skirts with the comfort of trousers has not yet been developed.
- an objective of the present invention is to provide a convertible skirt/trouser so that a suit of clothes can be worn as a skirt and a trouser by selectively changing its style into a skirt or a trouser.
- the present invention provides a convertible skirt/trouser including: a skirt having first and second zippers which are zipped and unzipped upward and downward, on the left and right sides; and a patch member having third and fourth zippers provided on the hem so that the third and fourth zippers are coupled to the first and second zippers to convert the skirt into a trouser.
- the third and fourth zippers of the patch member are coupled to the first and second zippers, respectively, such that the patch member combined with the skirt acts as the crotch of a trouser.
- the second zipper is longer than the first zipper, the patch member is made of the same material as that of the skirt, and a fastening zipper is further sewed on a belt portion of the skirt.
- Third and fourth zippers are coupled to the first and second zippers, respectively, by pulling zipper pulls up.
- the third and fourth zippers are coupled to the first and second zippers, respectively, by pulling zipper pulls down.

- the isolation distance d is required to obtain a wider leg insertion space 31 , as shown in FIG. 3. It becomes evident that the leg insertion space 31 is wider with an increase in the distance d.
- the third zipper 21 includes a third locking zipper 21a and a third locked zipper 21b.
- the third locking zipper 21a is provided with a zipper pull 34, and coupled to the first locked zipper 15b of the skirt 11 by pulling the zipper pull 34 up.
- the third locked zipper 21b is coupled to the first locking zipper 15a of the skirt 11 by pulling the zipper pull 33 up. These couplings are achieved by pulling the zippers 33 and 34 upward, respectively.
- the fourth zipper 23 includes a fourth locking zipper 23a and a fourth locked zipper 23b.
- the fourth locking zipper 23a is provided with a zipper pull 34, and coupled to the second locked zipper 17b of the skirt 11 by pulling the zipper pull 34 up.
- the fourth locked zipper 23b is coupled to the second locking zipper 17a of the skirt 11 by pulling the zipper pull 33 upward.
- the skirt 11 is converted into a trouser 29 (see FIG. 3) by this combination of the skirt 11 and the patch member 19. That is, with the first and second zippers 15and 17 completely open, the third zipper 21 of the patch member 19 is meshed with the first zipper 15 of the skirt 11 , and the fourth zipper 23 of the patch member 19 is meshed with the second zipper 17 of the skirt 11 , thereby completing the conversion into a trouser.
- FIG. 3 is a perspective view illustrating a convertible skirt/trouser according to the first embodiment of the present invention in a trouser state.
- the same reference numerals as those described above denote the same members.
- FIGS. 4 and 5 are views illustrating an example of a zipping and unzipping method which is applied to the convertible skirt/trouser according to the first embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG.
- the first and second zippers 15 and 17 sewed on the skirt 11 are zipped and unzipped by the zipper pull 33.
- the zippers 15 and 17 are zipped when the zipper pull 33 moves upward, and unzipped when the zipper pull 33 moves downward.
- the third and fourth zippers 21 and 23 provided on both lateral hems of the patch member 19 are combined with the first and second zippers 15 and 17 by pulling the zipper pulls 33 and 34 up, thereby coupling the patch member 19 to the skirt 11.
- FIG. 6 is a perspective view schematically illustrating a convertible skirt/trouser according to a second embodiment of the present invention in a skirt state.
- the convertible skirt/trouser according to this embodiment is different from the first embodiment in the direction of zipping of the zippers. That is, in the first embodiment, zippers are zipped by pulling zipper pulls up, but in the second embodiment, zippers are zipped by pulling zipper pulls down.
- a skirt 51 of the convertible skirt/trouser includes a belt portion 13 and a fastening zipper 27 installed on the belt portion 13, as in the first embodiment.
- first zipper 53 is provided under the fastening zipper 27, and a second zipper 55 is provided opposite to the first zipper 53.
- the first and second zippers 53 and 55 are zipped by moving zipper pulls 57 and 59 downward, and unzipped by moving the zipper pulls 57 and 59 upward.
- first and second zippers 53 and 55 when the first and second zippers 53 and 55 are appropriately opened by the zipper pulls 57 and 59, they act as lateral open lines which are applied to typical skirts, such that a user can walk taking longer strides and reveal more of the legs.
- FIG. 7 is an exploded perspective view schematically illustrating the configuration of the convertible skirt/trouser according to the second embodiment of the present invention.
