Abstract
The invention relates to a method for detecting traffic status on roads and motorways by means of wireless exchange of traffic data between motor vehicles located in said traffic and a centre, whereby the traffic vehicles are fitted with devices that detect traffic status and their own position in addition to being fitted with a transmitter and receiver device. The aim of the invention is to minimize the amount of information to be emitted by the vehicles with relation to the traffic status of roads and motorways in addition to providing fixed and mobile devices to implement said method. This is achieved by providing the motor vehicles (F) with a traffic route and traffic classification data file (14), whereby a stored, probable time and weekday related traffic status (Vkw) can be obtained therefrom using the vehicles' own position data (St), and said traffic status (Vkw) is compared to the momentary traffic status determined in the vehicle (F). 1 Verfahren zum Erfassen des Verkehrszustandes auf Straßen und Autobahnen durch drahtlosen Austausch von Verkehrsdaten zwischen im Verkehr befindlichen Fahrzeugen und einer Zentrale, wobei die Fahrzeuge mit Erfassungsgeraten für den Verkehrszustand, die eigene Position und Sende- und Empfangsgerät ausgestattet sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet,1 Method for detecting the traffic condition on roads and highways by wireless exchange of traffic data between vehicles in traffic and a control center, the vehicles being equipped with detection devices for the traffic condition, their own position and transmitting and receiving device, characterized in that
