Abstract

L'invention concerne un système radar pour véhicules, particulièrement bien adapté aux systèmes d'avertissement de marche arrière et de changement de voie de circulation. Ledit système radar permet de réduire au minimum bien des risques liés à l'état antérieur de la technique, via la programmation de valeurs de temps de délai et de valeurs de gain. Ce système utilise un algorithme de recherche en distance pour déceler et discerner des cibles à différentes distances, dans le champ de vision du radar. Chaque distance de cible correspond à un temps de délai et à un gain particuliers. Le radar effectue une recherche de cible à différentes distances en lançant l'algorithme de recherche en distance. Pour chaque distance de cible, l'algorithme de recherche établit le réglage approprié de temps de délai et de gain. Les cibles qui se situent dans les limites des distances sélectionnées sont décelées et cataloguées. La vitesse des cibles est déterminée par traitement Doppler. Un visuel avertit le conducteur du véhicule que des cibles sont présentes aux distances déterminées. L'avertissement peut être visuel et/ou auditif. S'agissant d'une application au système de changement de voie de circulation, l'émission d'un signal audible dépend de la vitesse du véhicule.
