Definitions

  • the invention relates to a bow device with a middle part with a grip part for gripping the bow and two throwing legs, one end of which adjoins the middle part and the other end of which is connected to a bowstring of the bow.
  • Bows of the type mentioned at the beginning have been used for shooting arrows as hunting and defense instruments.
  • the throwing thighs are made of an elastic material that is deformed by tightening the tendon and thereby kinetic energy stores, which is partially transferred to an arrow adjacent to the tendon when the tendon is released. Attaching the tendon ends to the ends of the throwing legs generally causes the majority of the deformation energy to be effective in the region of the supporting opposite pole, ie in the region of the handle part or in the region of a rigid middle part.
  • a concave-convex design of the throwing legs of a bow in turn has the consequence that the tendon comes to lie at a considerable distance from the middle part or the grip part when the bow is not under tension.
  • This distance can be up to 40 cm and has an indirect disadvantageous effect on the acceleration force of a bow, since a distance of the chord towards the handle part predetermined by this distance is not used to accelerate an arrow in these conventional bows.
