Abstract

Cette invention concerne des procédés de traitement de déchets métalliques qui ont été contaminés par des radionucléides. L'un de ces procédés consiste à effectuer une désactivation en milieu liquide des déchets métalliques, ceci en utilisant une solution d'attaque, une solution de nettoyage et de l'eau. Les déchets métalliques sont ensuite fondus dans un four à induction en y rajoutant des agents fluxants de raffinage. Les lingots sont ensuite soumis à un contrôle dosimétrique avant de solidifier la solution d'attaque. La désactivation en milieu liquide des déchets métalliques se fait tout d'abord à l'aide de la solution d'attaque qui contient de 5 à 200 g/l d'un acide fort et de 0,1 à 15 g/l d'un activateur contenant du soufre ou d'un inhibiteur de corrosion, ceci à une température allant de 10 à 100° C. On effectue ensuite le traitement à l'aide de la solution de nettoyage qui contient de 2 à 100 g/l d'un acide fort et de 1 à 20 g/l d'un oxydant, ceci à une température allant de 10 à 90° C et avant d'effectuer le traitement à l'eau. On contrôle la concentration d'ions de métaux présents dans la solution d'attaque et, lorsque cette concentration dépasse une valeur prédéterminée, on élimine une partie de ladite solution que l'on solidifie, la partie correspondante de solution restante étant renforcée à l'aide d'un acide fort. Lors de la fusion, le contenu en produits fluxants de raffinage par rapport au métal varie de 0,9 à 4 % en poids.
