- train control In the case of an operating mode with a comparatively high degree of automation, train control is provided, which is either installed decentrally close to the signal box or is integrated centrally in an operating control center. Train routing and route number-dependent route information is required as the basis for train control. This enables train routing to set the route for a train according to the schedule at the right time. In contrast to self-service operation, train routing can be limited to one entry when the route is selected if the train journey ends at the next station.

- the dispatcher of a control center can also intervene in the mobile train routing by switching it on and off in relation to the station or the train. Such switching on or off is communicated to the route devices or the vehicle device 3 by radio.
- a further possibility of intervention consists in an early manual setting of the route by the dispatcher before the mobile train control has requested the route. If the request for a route that deviates from the timetable is to be made manually by the dispatcher, a signal box must be provided instead of the mobile train protection system 4.
