  • the invention resides in a fluid containment system
  • the present invention comprises a family of well plates. All of the plates have the inherent properties of: i) minimizing reflections from an excitation source into an imaging detector; ii) minimizing the concentration of excitation into intense and localized sources (lensing) ; and iii) allowing an epi-illuminating excitation beam to penetrate both central and lateral wells effectively.
  • Figure 4 is a schematic illustration of the present invention, as used with an imaging system designed for analysis of assays within wells.

Abstract

Système de maintien d'échantillons optimisant les propriétés optiques des dispositifs de maintien (puits) aux fins d'imagerie, de manière à augmenter le signal pertinent, par rapport à l'environnement. Dans un ensemble de plaques à puits, où les puits forment série, on a toujours les propriétés intrinsèques suivantes: i) réduction au minimum des réflexions produites par une source d'excitation dans un détecteur d'imagerie; ii) réduction au minimum de la concentration de l'excitation dans des sources intenses et localisées (diffusion par lentille); et iii) structure laissant pénétrer efficacement un faisceau d'excitation par illumination verticale dans les puits centraux et latéraux. Les plaques sont en matériau conçu ou traité pour avoir une fluorescence et des propriétés de réflexion minimes. Les chambres de puits sont asymétriques en profondeur (par exemple, surfaces de puits en pente) et sont irrégulières en section transversale. Le fonds de puits peut également comporter une crête ou être transparent pour réduire au minimum la réflexion de la lumière incidente qui en émane.
