  • the diagonal braces 6 and the chords 5 are manufactured from a single blank, such that there are no welding joints at crossing points 7 of the diagonal braces or at junctures 8 between the same and the chords.
  • This is made possible in such a manner that a blank of sheet material is cut to provide it with slits, the disposition of which is such that, as the blank is stretched from the chords 5 in a direction perpendicular to the slits, the diagonal braces 6 stretch to a sufficient extent for achieving a desired width for the truss.
  • the direction and positioning of the slits is such that, during the stretching, the diagonal braces cannot experience flattening or bending.
  • the blank sheet may have a material thickness which is quite small, e.g. 1-2 mm.
  • the method differs from traditional manufacturing of a meshed structure essentially in the sense that stretching of the entire slit area is effected in a single operation by distancing the chords 5 from each other while the diagonal braces remain substantially coincident with the plane of the original sheet
  • the invention offers the following advantages:
  • the invention is not limited to the above-described exemplary embodiment, but the truss can also be used for bracing on-site masoned brick walls to each other, the chords 5 being embedded in mortar between brick layers, or - in a floor slab for binding to the slab a concrete layer to be cast on top of the slab.
