Abstract

Dispositif destiné à appliquer un fluide de manière topique à un patient, qui comprend un logement doté d'un orifice. Ledit logement comprend un piston coulissant entre une première position et une seconde position d'amorçage, un moyen de contrainte agissant sur le piston pour déplacer ce dernier vers la première position, un moyen de retenue libérable destiné à maintenir le piston dans la position d'amorçage contre l'action du moyen de contrainte, une chambre de stockage destinée à contenir le fluide, ladite chambre se trouvant en connexion fluidique par l'intermédiaire d'une première valve avec une chambre de charge se trouvant en connexion fluidique par l'intermédiaire d'une seconde valve avec un moyen d'atomisation se trouvant en connexion fluidique avec l'orifice du logement. Ces composants sont disposés dans le logement de telle manière que pour amorcer ledit dispositif, le piston est déplacé de la première position à la position d'amorçage pour entraîner un volume prédéterminé de fluide stérile à pénétrer dans la chambre de charge par la première valve, et de l'air à pénétrer dans le logement par l'orifice. Le piston est maintenu dans la position d'amorçage contre la force du moyen de contrainte par le moyen de retenue. Pour administrer du fluide à un patient, le dispositif est placé de manière à ce que l'orifice soit adjacent au site d'application et le moyen de retenue est libéré pour permettre au moyen de contrainte de déplacer le piston de la position d'amorçage à la première position, ce qui entraîne le fluide à quitter la chambre de charge par la seconde valve, à pénétrer dans le moyen d'atomisation où le fluide est mélangé avec de l'air et à être évacué par l'orifice. De préférence, ledit dispositif est approprié pour appliquer du fluide sur la surface de l'oeil d'un patient, le fluide est un fluide stérile approprié pour être appliqué sur la surface de l'oeil et le dispositif est capable d'évacuer le fluide de l'orifice sous forme de brouillard.
