Ce générateur est pourvu d'un rotor plat à aimants portant plusieurs pôles magnétiques N et S disposés en alternance sur la surface périphérique intérieure du rotor, une armature de stator portant plusieurs pôles magnétiques entourés chacun d'enroulements d'armature sur la périphérie extérieure et placés sur l'intérieur du rotor, de façon que les pôles magnétiques du stator puissent faire face aux pôles magnétiques du rotor. On actionne manuellement ce générateur en imprimant une force d'entraînement rotationnelle au rotor.
