  • Peritelevision Connector specifies the SCART connector for television sets. The standard does not provide contacts for supplying power to a connected device. Thus, one of the contacts is chosen for supplying power to the data storage unit which is normally connected to ground. In order to avoid damage to external devices other than the data storage unit, an embodiment of the method is characterized by supplying power to said data storage unit during the period of data transfer only.

Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte à des procédés et à des systèmes pour transférer des données de commande, telles que des numéros de canaux, des réglages d'images et de son, à partir d'une unité de stockage de données de commande externe vers un récepteur de radiodiffusion (télévision, magnétoscope vidéo, radio, syntoniseur audio, etc.) ou vice versa. L'unité de stockage de données est constituée par un petit dispositif tenant dans la main ayant une fiche mâle (par exemple SCART) qui peut être directement enfichée dans la prise femelle du récepteur. L'alimentation en courant est fournie à l'unité de stockage de données par le récepteur via la prise. Cette invention s'applique en particulier dans des hôtels où un grand nombre de récepteurs de télévision doivent être installés ou mis à jour régulièrement. Il suffit de quelques secondes seulement pour installer et mettre à jour un récepteur de télévision.
