Abstract
In the device for separating a sheet article from a stack (10), the latter lies on a moveable pressure plate (20) with which the stack (10) is led to a removal device (30). The pressure with which the stack (10) is pushed against the removal device (30) depends on the density of the stack (10). That density is determined by a density sensor which determines the stack density continuously during the separation operation at least in the vicinity of the removal device (30).
