L'invention concerne un treillis en fil métallique plus solide et présentant une plus grande souplesse d'utilisation que les treillis métalliques réalisés avec du fil métallique rond. Pour ce faire, ce treillis est réalisé avec des tiges métalliques (1, 2) ayant chacune au moins une face plane pour venir en contact d'aboutement avec les faces planes d'autres tiges métalliques (1, 2) dans le treillis, de manière à permettre un contact entre les tiges métalliques (1, 2) sur une surface donnée sur laquelle lesdites tiges métalliques (1, 2) sont fixées ensemble. Les tiges métalliques (1, 2) peuvent être rectangulaires en contact face à face, bord à face ou bord à bord. Le treillis métallique peut être utilisé dans des panneaux, par exemple pour réaliser une barrière ou il peut être plié pour former des conteneurs, des palettes, des plateaux ou encore il peut être posé à plat pour réaliser un plancher ou une passerelle.
