Ces principaux inconvénients se caractérisent par :However, an examination of these devices shows that they have major drawbacks, which make them difficult to handle, tiring and ineffective. These main drawbacks are characterized by:
The device of JACQUET FR 2 387059 or that of DAVIS US 4938 484 illustrate this drawback which gives the player increased difficulty and fatigue in order to obtain equal tension over the entire width or height of the propellant, during its extension.
A compact structure of the propulsion surface as for example in the toy of WHITE FR 2 520 245 which causes significant resistance to air making the device more tiring and having less effect.
Cet inconvénient concerne essentiellement les propulseurs de APERT FR 355 672 ; MIGNOT FR 821 508 et DAVIS US 4 938 484.- A link or rope made of elastic material ("tensioner", "rubber band" ...) extending over the entire length of the longitudinal sides of the propulsion surface, which not only requires muscular effort from the player additional to handle the device, but dampens its sudden extension, which limits the propelling effect. This drawback mainly concerns the propellants of APERT FR 355 672; MIGNOT FR 821 508 and DAVIS US 4 938 484.
-.-. , , . -. - . ,, . - . - - <- ' • - - - A rigid, complicated or bulky support, insofar as it is not limited simply to a side bar on each side of the propulsion surface. This drawback concerns in particular the inventions of
LIEBICH DE 2704303 ; ROSENKAIMER DE 565654, STEPHENS US 4234 183 ; HAUPHOFF DE 223960 ; MIGNOT FR 821 508 et APERT FR 355672.LIEBICH OF 2704303; ROSENKAIMER OF 565654, STEPHENS US 4234 183; HAUPHOFF OF 223960; MIGNOT FR 821 508 and APERT FR 355672.
In addition, it seems obvious that all known thrusters have been designed either with a very narrow propulsion surface causing greater difficulty in receiving the projectile, or with an insufficient height, reduced to a dimension of "handle", where an increased pain to catch the projectile at a low volley, where a little distant. Thus through the figures of the drawings contained in the invention of MIGNOT FR 821 508, the fist of the player, it covers almost the entire height or width of the propellant. DAVIS meanwhile in his invention US 4,938,484 offers 6 inches (about 15 cm), as the width of the propulsion surface.
Finally, another drawback noted and not least, is that in all these devices mentioned above, the two lateral edges of the propulsion surface are rigid or stiffened, for example, using "rigid spacers" at MIGNOT. This drawback not only clutters, weighs down the device and annoys the player, but prevents the loosening of these two stiffened sides and, consequently, limits the loosening of the flexible surface, which affects and lessens the effect of the extension.
The present invention therefore aims to remedy these drawbacks. To achieve this objective, the device according to the invention consists of a flexible surface, substantially in the form of a quadrilateral, preferably in a net-like structure, limiting air resistance as much as possible. Said flexible surface is connected to two lateral supports, constituting two handles, substantially rigid, so as to obtain on each side a large opening, between a flexible edge of the propulsion surface and a rigid support handle. Said large lateral openings, intended to facilitate gripping of the device, allow the player's hands to be offset relative to the middle of the support sleeves and, to be as close as possible to the rear end of the latter so that the player can benefit from a leverage effect, make the most of the entire height of the device and finally so as not to be hampered by the rear part. We hear by rear part of the device, that which is closest to the player's body when, the latter holds the thruster stretched horizontally in front of him, the support sleeves facing forward, in extension of his outstretched arms. The anterior part, then being that which is furthest forward. The height of the thruster would be, as an indication, close to the length of a tennis racket, varying of course according to the categories of athletes. Such a height of the flexible surface and of the support handles makes it possible to optimize the effect of the device because it endows it with a large propelling surface, which facilitates the reception of the projectile, its catching up with a low flight, or a little distant, as well as its pickup on the ground, without bending down too much or bending the knee. So we simply bring the projectile back onto the flexible surface, the front part of which touches the ground, using the front end of a support handle.
The projectile is received on the flexible surface, released by the approximation of at least one support handle to the other, and it is returned by a rapid extension of the flexible surface, abruptly discarding, at least one support handle on the other. Fig. 1 shows the tensioned device, the diagram in FIG. 2 shows it released.
This device is capable of launching any suitable projectile, such as a small ball but, not being struck by a hard surface, the player would risk feeling deprived of the pleasure that the "click" gives him, which punctuates the game. , such as during a game of tennis. To make up for this shortcoming, an original flying accessory has been adapted to the propellant which, in fact, not only does not deprive the player of the pleasure which the "snap" which gives them rhythm gives them, but it is fun and pleasant to see steal. This flywheel is formed by a mass of inertia connected to a flexible part, of very low weight and thickness, constituting "a retarder". To assemble these two parts, the mass of inertia is provided with a "passer", acting as "chas", which is used to pass and fix "the retarder". The latter consists of a flexible, long and narrow strip, made of fabric or plastic, very thin and very light. This "retarder" then, not only produces a "snap" like a whip by its sudden return, or a hissing by its friction in the air punctuating the game, but it floats and undulates in the air which makes the projectile fun and pleasant to watch.
The accompanying drawings illustrate by way of example, the propellant and its flying accessory, which can be further adapted to other striking devices, such as a racket, but it is then more fragile. Said propellant is composed, according to Fig 1 of a flexible propulsion surface 1 in the form of a quadrilateral, in net-like structure, the four sides of which have been reinforced by a thin flexible and solid strip. Said flexible surface is connected, by enclosing by four extensions 5 'of its vertices, grooves 6 located at the four ends of two sleeve-supports 2 which pivot, extending over the entire height or width of said flexible part. Thus, we obtain on each side, a large opening 3 between a flexible edge 4 of the propulsion surface and the rigid support handle 2. These two large openings 3 allow the player's hands to be offset from the middle 2 'of said support handles and to be as close as possible to their rear end. Sliding loops (or claws) 7 allow the player to adjust as desired the length of each of the two flexible edges 5.5 'anterior or posterior. "Runners" 8 preferably made of elastic material then keep the free ends of the extensions 5 'and prevent them from hanging.
Said extensions 5 ′ may be part of a flexible reinforcement of the edges of the propulsion surface as shown in FIG. 1. However, each extension 5 ′ can be produced in a separate element, in the form of a strip or a cord. It can have, for example, the shape of a circular but stretched 5 "lace, the two ends of which easily transform into two slip knots as shown in Fig. 4. One of these two slip knots wraps around the surface flexible at one of its tops, while the other encloses one of said grooves located at the ends of the support handles. The tops of said flexible surface are then thicker, or provided with a function element protruding, for a better fixation of the slip knot. The latter can also grip the flexible surface, through the mesh of the top, or through an eyelet laid for this purpose. This embodiment, with 5 "extensions in elements to hand, seems very simple, practical and economical, since it allows their simple replacement in case of wear. The player can have them in different lengths, in order to be able to modify as he pleases, according to his personal comfort, the dimensions of the flexible edges 5,5 ′ anterior or posterior. Of course different methods and materials allow the attachment of so-called extensions in separate elements. Also, various methods allow the adjustment of their length, without in any way changing the principle of the invention.
According to particular embodiments: - The posterior flexible edge 5.5 ′ does not have the same length as the anterior flexible edge 5.5 ′. - The distance between the ends of the fasteners, which correspond to the grooves 6 on the same support handle, is slightly greater than the height of the flexible lateral edges 4, of the propulsion surface 1, which further optimizes its tension.
The support handles are in telescopic structure, thus making the device less bulky to store. In certain embodiments, this structure makes it possible to adjust the length of the support handles, or even to lighten the device when the front part of the support handles is that which fits into the rear part.
— L'un desdits prolongements 5' ou 5" au moins est en matière élastique, ce qui peut éventuellement amortir le choc d'une extension trop brusque, mais limite la force d'expulsion du projectile.- One of said extensions 5 'or 5 "at least is made of elastic material, which can possibly absorb the shock of an excessively sudden extension, but limits the force of expulsion of the projectile.
In order to give an example of an embodiment of the projectile, FIG. 3 shows a ball 10 provided with a "passer" 20 anchored in said ball, acting as a "chas" through which a flexible, long and narrow strip folded in half (made of fabric or plastic) has been passed and fixed ) of very low weight and thickness, forming a "retarder" 30. This embodiment makes it easy to replace the damaged part.
Selon d'autres modes de réalisation :According to other embodiments:
Le ralentisseur est alors fixé directement sur le périmètre de l'un des anneaux, faisant alors fonction du "passant", par exemple grâce à un nœud coulant.- The inertial mass 10 'consists of one or more integral rings which intersect, for example at the level of a diameter as shown in FIG. 5. The retarder is then fixed directly on the perimeter of one of the rings, then acting as a "passer-by", for example by means of a slip knot.
The "passer" is made of an elastic material to better tighten the "retarder".
The retarder, before being fixed, is a flat surface with different shapes and dimensions.
It is preferably made of flexible and elastic material, in the form of a loop that can undo and reform in the event of replacement of the "retarder"
- The strip 30 is directly anchored in the ball.
