Abstract

With the invention, it is possible to obtain a wave reduction gear using a chain as the flexible wheel, the gear ratio of the chain being independent of the number of teeth of the rigid wheel (7), planetary gear pinion (5) and planetary gear sprocket (6). This is achieved by using a double planetary pinion with on one side a pinion (5) which meshes with the rigid wheel (7) and on the other a sprocket (6) which meshes with the flexible wheel (8). The gear ratio of the reduction gear depends on the difference between the length of the pitch circle of the rigid wheel and the length of the flexible wheel. To transmit motion from the flexible wheel (8) to the output shaft (2), use is made of resilient push rods which completely eliminate the skew of the chain pins and the chain slack in sections not subject to load.
