The spring action provides for a tight seal also when the elements of the filtering unit will have various thermal expansion.
  • the central tube 27 has two sets of distance elements 40 that support and centre the ends of the filtering elements 36-38 so that the filtering elements form together a cylin ⁇ dric annular filter and so that there will be an annular space 41 between the filtering elements 36-38 and the central tube 27 and a annular space 42 between the filtering elements 36-38 and the tube 16.
  • the central tube 27 has a plurality of holes 43 and a connection 44 through which filtered sample gas are sucked out and conveyed to a non illustrated analysis apparatus.
  • An electric heating cable 46 has its terminals 47, 48 at the rear of the tube 27 and it extends inside the tube 27 and protrudes through two of the holes in the tube. It is wound around the tube 27 in the space 41 between the tube 27 and the filter 36-38.
  • the probe is easy to dismount since the entire filtering unit 24 can be retracted when the flange 25 has been loosened from the flange 23, and exchange of the filtering unit can be carried out quickly.
  • a typical probe used in metallurgic processes may have a filter (36-38) that has a diameter of 35-40 mm and a total length of 30-40 cm.
  • the filter will normally take up at least 40 %, preferably at least 50 %, of the length of the cooled tube (11, 16, 18) and the filter area will normally be 300-500 cm 2 .
  • the probe has a large filtering area close to the sample gas inlet and the filter can effectively, quickly and simply be cleaned by means of pressure gas which provides for a high degree of availability.
  • the cleansing can be automatized by simple means so that the cleansing is carried out at regular intervals.

Abstract

Une sonde d'échantillonnage de gaz pour gaz chaud chargé de poussières tel que les gaz brûlés dégagés par des procédés métallurgiques comporte un tube refroidi par eau (11, 16, 18) à parois multiples et un organe de filtrage (24) amovible prévu dans ce dernier. Ledit organe de filtrage comprend un tube perforé (27) entouré d'un filtre en céramique (36-38) cylindrique tubulaire. Une grande surface de filtrage à proximité de l'entrée de l'échantillon de gaz, et le nettoyage efficace du filtre et de ladite entrée au moyen d'un jet de gaz permet d'assurer une efficacité de fonctionnement élevée.
