Abstract
Moteur diesel (3) équipé d'un oxydant thermique catalytique à trois voies (21) et d'un collecteur spécial placé sur l'admission d'air pour réduire l'admission d'air, de gaz naturel et de gaz d'échappement refroidis et les mélanger, afin de réduire les émissions d'oxydes d'azote à des niveaux extrêmement faibles. Un ordinateur (33) régule le débit d'air pour maintenir le rapport st÷chiométrique à l'intérieur du convertisseur catalytique. Un système à deux combustibles comportant du gaz naturel (1) en plus du diesel sert à diminuer les suies tout en utilisant un produit de substitution plus économique que le diesel qu'il remplace. Les gaz d'échappement (13) refroidis recyclés servent à abaisser la température des gaz d'échappement, à diminuer la formation de NOx et à empêcher le cliquetis à l'intérieur du moteur. L'oxydant catalytique à trois voies (21) réduit les émissions de NOx, CO, HC et de particules.
