Abstract

A device for simultaneously connecting and mounting a light fitting on a ceiling or wall. The device consists of two cylindrical elements mechanically coupled by inserting one into the other and rotating it through one eighth of a turn. The first, fixed element comprises three main components: a housing (1), a protective cover (2) and a disc (3) secured by a captive screw. The second, releasable element comprises two main components: a supporting block (4) with flexible contacts, and a yoke having two fixing screws. Said device is particularly designed for use by building wiring electricians in the case of the first assembly, while the second assembly is particularly designed for light fitting manufacturers and all users.

Description

DEVICE FOR SIMULTANEOUS CONNECTION AND FIXING OF LUMINAIRE.

The present invention relates to a device for the simultaneous, fast and secure fixing and fixing of luminaires.

The installation of a luminaire is traditionally done by fixing to the ceiling or on a vertical wall using a bolt - screw - dowel - rocking dowel. The connection being ensured by splices or domino. In all cases, for installation, including for the hole receiving the plugs, the electrical circuit must be open to fuses. The tear resistance of the fastener is too often insufficient, and over time, it is then the conductive wires which ensure safety. The installation of the dowels is always made difficult by the presence of the embedded electrical pipes, hence the risk of damage to the supply wires.

The device ensures very simple assembly and above all offers great security; it can be summarized by a mechanical coupling of two cylindrical elements, carried out by interlocking and rotation of an eighth of a turn. The first element being fixed and preferably installed by a professional; the second, removable made integral with the luminaire, the equipment being produced separately.

According to other embodiments not illustrated:

- the mixed box can be replaced by a built-in box and a surface-mounted box to be fixed in a more aesthetic external shape.

- the contacts can be reversed, flexible contact on the wafer, fixed contact pads on the plug.

- the wafer can be equipped with a security system closing the four studs.

- plug broken down into two parts, ie a contact plate, fixed orientation and bayonet lock, different angle of rotation.

SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26} The fixed element is composed of three main parts:

- a box (1) for mixed use

- a protective cover (2)

- a wafer (3) made fixed by a captive screw in the center, and carrying the contact pads to be fitted for the supply.

The removable element is made up of two main parts:

- a support plug (4) with flexible contacts and pads to be fitted for lighting

- a trigger guard with two fixing screws (not drawn)

Box (1) of hard plastic, cylindrical shape; on the outside diameter, a segmented and ribbed collar for retaining on plasterboard ceiling, sealing or anchoring in masonry or poured concrete. Tangent at the bottom an insulating sheath passage hole of 16 with reducer or tight nipple (not drawn). Inside a central boss with threaded blind hole for wafer retaining screw (3). On the inner wall, three equidistant sectors, female bayonet shape, parallel to the edge constitutes the carrier element with a clear stop on the front and a low height retainer on the rear (clockwise). Note that one of these sectors is angularly different to define a single position of the related parts.

At the bottom, three oblong prints with weakened canvas for possible surface mounting, by screws.

Plastic cover (2) serves as reinforcement and protection of the box

(1) during sealing flush with the wall and cover for paint, etc. It is adjusted on the box, oriented and clipped by the three segments. It has on the flat face two diametrically opposite marks, intended during the sealing of the box (1) on a vertical wall, to define the horizontal or vertical axis of the two holes, tapped by the plug (4) when the final assembly is carried out. . Fixed contact plate (3), made of plastic, has three sectors on its periphery corresponding to the box (1). On the hollow face, we find four contact pads, three located on the same radius, while the fourth is closer to the center. On the opposite face, in connection with the studs, four devices for connecting the supply wires with marks for double ignition and earth (closest to the center). The assembly in the box (1) is ensured by centering, and fixing on the boss using a captive screw, the orientation defined, with slight play, by the three sectors.

Cap (4) in the form of a hard plastic wafer, carries on the periphery three male bayonet sectors in accordance with the box (1). On the upper face in opposition to the pads of the wafer (3) we find protected by molding and marked, four flexible contacts with device for connecting the conductive wires which will come from the luminaire, passing through the central hole and distributed by notches. The bowl receives the excess wire and will eventually house a nut with an electric pitch. On the flat side, diametrically opposite, are two inserts allowing the direct fixing of the luminaires or suspension bridges. To facilitate the installation of the fitted luminaire, the introduction into the box (1) and the rotation are ensured by imprints which receive the fingertips.

In all cases, the assembly is contained in the same cylindrical volume, from 57 to 67 mm in diameter for a height of approximately 40 mm. The plastic material used for the housing (1) and the plug (4) must be of high mechanical strength, so that the three bayonet sectors resist a load of approximately 50 kg.

Claims

1 / Simultaneous connection and fixing device for luminaires, characterized in that it comprises a first assembly consisting of a fixed housing (1) made of high-strength plastic material designed to be made integral with the building by sealing or projecting by screws and ensuring without constraint the end of the electrical circuit to a pad (3) with studs protected by a cover (2) until the fitting of the luminaire, and a second assembly constituted by a removable plug (4) forming part of the equipment of the luminaire which carries the flexible contacts protected by molding against excessive crushing, the connection with the luminaire being ensured by two screws with or without suspension bridge or non-electric nut.

5 / Device according to any one of claims 1) to 4) characterized in that the plug is in two parts namely a contact carrier wafer with fixed orientation, and a bayonet lock with different angle of rotation.

6 / Device according to any one of claims 1) to 5), characterized in that it occupies a cylindrical volume of diameter between 57 and 67 mm (or 60 mm for interlocking false ceiling) for a height of 40 mm max.

Device according to any one of claims 1) to 6), in that it can be equipped with a security system closing off the four contact pads of the wafer (3) when the plug (4) is not not in the housing.
