Description
SCHOCKMUNITION SHOCK AMMUNITION
Shock weapons are e.g. needed to catch up with criminals like hostage-takers or hijackers. The shock weapons of the type in question resemble a hand grenade and have a mostly cylindrical container with several, usually two compartments, each containing an active or effect charge, e.g. a bang and lightning charge is recorded. The effect charges are mostly ignited with the aid of a manually operable ignition device, delay charges between the compartments ensuring that the two effect charges are ignited one after the other in a certain time sequence. The respective bang should be shocked by the bang that occurs when the individual effect charges are fired and the additional glare that occurs.
There is now a need to modify the type of active charges and in particular to increase their number. In particular, the aim is to ignite several active charges in succession in a time sequence of several, approximately 4 seconds, in order to increase the shock effect on the respective person. Despite the larger number of effect charges, the size of the shock weapon should not be increased. These requirements cannot be solved with the previous design principle of known shock weapons. The invention is therefore based on the object to modify a shock weapon of the type in question so that several effect charges can be accommodated in the container without increasing the size, which can be detonated over a period of several seconds.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.
Accordingly, the ignition device for all effect charges has a common ignition channel in which a delay charge is received. From the ignition channel, branch bores start at different points in the compartments with the effect charges, the position of the branch bores being distributed along the ignition channel so that the individual effect charges are ignited at different times in the desired time sequence.
With such a design principle, it is possible to have significantly more compartments in a container that is not enlarged than known shock weapons, e.g. to arrange seven or nine compartments with bang / lightning charges, which are fired in succession for several seconds, so that the shock effect compared to known shock weapons is increased several times.
The ignition channel for all effect charges preferably runs along the central axis of the usually elongate or cylindrical container, and the compartments for the special charges are arranged distributed around this central axis. The distribution can be such that the compartments are arranged approximately radially from the central axis and are distributed around the central axis at different angles and heights. A variant is to arrange the compartments essentially parallel to the central axis, in which case the tap holes leading into these compartments branch off from the ignition channel at different heights.
In both cases it is possible to arrange the compartments in such a way that the recoil which arises when the effect charges are ignited is canceled out by generating two opposing pressure pulses. With such an ignition of the effect charges, the thrown shock weapon remains more or less in one place on the ground.
However, it is also possible to consciously use the recoil that occurs when an effect charge is fired, so that the shock weapon is ejected from its current position over a more or less short distance, and this is repeated when all effect charges are fired. This results in an increased irritation effect and thus a higher shock effect.
In der Zeichnung stellen dar:The invention is explained in more detail in two exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawing. In the drawing:

In Fig. 1, a shock weapon is designated 1, which has a container 2 with nine compartments 3-1, 3-2, ..., 3-9 for one effect charge 4-1, 4-2, ..., 4 -9 and a manually operated rocker switch ignition 1 placed on the container. This rocker arm igniter 5 has a rocker arm 6 held securely and is screwed into a thread on the top of the container with a threaded plug 7 and is sealed off from it with the aid of an O-ring. A primer 9 is located at the bottom of the threaded bore. The ignition guard 9 is followed by a bore serving as an ignition channel 10, which extends along the central axis A of the cylindrical container to approximately the bottom thereof. Branch bores 12 are provided between the individual compartments 3-1 to 3-9, which extend into the ignition channel 10.
The individual compartments 3-1 to 3-9, which are designed as radial cross bores, are each closed with a plug 13, for example made of soft polyethylene, so that the effect charge contained therein is also securely held. The radial branch bores 12 are arranged along the ignition channel at different locations, the compartments additionally being angularly distributed around the central axis, so that when the delay set burns off, the individual effect charges are ignited one after the other in a certain time sequence. The time sequence during ignition can also be influenced by the rate at which the delay block burns up. The ignition is triggered in that the rocker arm 6 is unlocked and the shock weapon is thrown away. The rocker arm pivots under the action of a spring in Fig. 1 counterclockwise and unlocks the firing pin of the igniter 5. This is in a biased spring in Hurled towards the primer 9 and ignites it. As a result, the delay set 11 is ignited.
Bei der Schockwaffe gemäß Fig. 1 sitzen die einzelnen Abteile 3-1 bis 3-9 in unterschiedlichen Höhenlagen längs der Mittelachse A. Dies hat den Effekt, daß beim Zünden einer Effektladung durch den Rückstoß die gesamte, am Boden liegende Schockwaffe über eine kurze Entfernung fortgeschleudert wird, was sich beim nachfolgenden Zünden der anderen Effektladungen wiederholt.1, the individual compartments 3-1 to 3-9 sit at different altitudes along the central axis A. This has the effect that when an effect charge is detonated by the recoil, the entire shock weapon lying on the ground over a short distance is hurled away, which is repeated when the other effect charges are subsequently ignited.
Von diesem Zündkanal 11 zweigen wiederum in unterschiedlichen Höhen Stichbohrungen 12 in die einzelnen Abteile ab, so daß die darin gelegenen Effektladungen beim Abbrand des Verzögerungssatzes 11 in bestimmter Zeitfolge nacheinander gezündet werden.3 and 4, the same reference numerals are used for the same or equivalent parts. The shock weapon 1 shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 in turn has a container 2, in which six compartments 3-1 to 3-6 are regularly arranged around the central axis A and are designed as simple bores parallel to the central longitudinal axis A. An effect charge 4-1 to 4-6 is arranged in the compartments. The compartments are on both sides, i.e. at the top or bottom, the container 2 is closed by plastic plugs 13. A rocker arm igniter 5 with a rocker arm 6 is in turn screwed onto this container. With the rocker arm igniter, as described above, a primer 9 is ignited and with it a delay set 11, which is arranged in a bore serving as the ignition channel 10 along the central axis A. From this ignition channel 11, branch bores 12 branch off into the individual compartments at different heights, so that the effect charges therein are ignited one after the other in a certain time sequence when the delay set 11 burns.
94/08200 ._Since the individual effect charges 4-1 to 4-6 are ignited essentially more or less in the center, the explosion front spreads to both sides, so that the flame of the charge on both the underside and on the 94/08200 ._
Top of the container emerges after the plug 13 has been destroyed. As a result, practically no recoil is generated.
The containers of the shock weapons shown can also, as shown in FIG. 3, be covered with a preferably self-adhesive film 14, at least on their outer side wall. Then on this film e.g. Inscriptions may be provided.
