Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à une tête d'impression qui produit des points de taille variable groupés en cellules. Pour chaque intensification du niveau de gris d'une cellule, au moins un point de la cellule s'agrandit. Des motifs d'agrandissement de la cellule sont également décrits. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, un élément d'impression de niveau de gris forme des points selon un gabarit correspondant à l'intensification des niveaux de gris de la cellule jusqu'à ce qu'une structure linéaire soit stable. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, des valeurs de pixels analysées sont comparées à un ensemble de valeurs seuil qui sont définies par une analyse de reproduction de ton à quatre quadrants à l'aide d'un gabarit de points, d'une profondeur binaire sélectionnée et d'une structure de type de points. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, on modifie les valeurs d'intensité de certains pixels en introduisant des erreurs dans les valeurs d'intensité de pixels à des emplacements préférés de telle façon que les pixels le long des lignes de l'écran aient une plus grande probabilité d'être imprimés avec des points fixes que les pixels qui ne sont pas à ces emplacements préférés. Les erreurs créées par modification des valeurs d'intensité sont diffusées dans les pixels voisins. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, la suppression des contours s'effectue sur les pixels d'un texte ou d'une zone en demi-teinte. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, ces zones sont imprimées avec une fréquence d'occultation de sortie plus élevée. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, un filtre de désoccultation réduit de façon itérative une fréquence spécifique de l'image numérisée.
