Definitions
- the invention relates to containers for sheet stacks of paper, film and comparable surface products for transporting the same between the manufacturer, dealer and consumer, and for storage until consumption.
- Sheets of paper cut on hate, such as copy paper, typewriter paper, etc., are wrapped in 500 or 1000 sheets of wrapping paper. A number of these packages are then put together in a box, in which they are protected during storage and transport. An EC standard specifies that such shipping boxes must not exceed 13.5 kg in weight.
- One box contains 2500 sheets of A4 paper with a weight per unit area of 80 g / m 2 , or five individually wrapped paper stacks.
- A4 size copy paper The EC-wide demand for A4 size copy paper is currently estimated at 2.4 million tons per year. To wrap that amount of 500-sheet copy paper, at least 25400 tons of wrapping paper are required. The storage and shipping boxes then weigh at least another 48,000 tons. Since the end user cannot use the wrapping paper and the shipping boxes, this means an additional paper waste of at least 73,400 tons per year, as I said, only for A4 size copy paper.
- Packaging papers are also often coated with plastic or the like in order to increase moisture protection. This coating makes recycling difficult.
- the present invention has for its object to remedy this situation and to provide a storage and transport container for sheet stacks of paper, film and comparable surface products, thanks to which paper waste can be avoided without the protection of the paper against environmental influences such as dirt, moisture and / or dryness.
- any desired amount of paper, film or other sheet products for example the 2500 sheets mentioned at the beginning Copy paper of the size A4, without any further packaging can be stacked in the box.
- Such a sheet stack would have a height of approx. 25 cm and a weight of approx. 12.5 kg with a basis weight of 80 g / m 2 . Thanks to the floating lid, the paper stack is protected against harmful environmental influences such as dirt, cold, moisture or dryness. The paper stack, even the one that has already been opened, is in a kind of microclimate chamber.
- gripping slots that are molded into the side walls, a certain amount of paper can be easily removed from above. The risk of cuts is eliminated. If these gripping slots are arranged on the long edges of the paper stack, the front edges of the sheets remain undamaged even when careless handling is carried out, so that the copier paper runs smoothly with an automatic copier.
- the cover of the gripping slots can either be designed as a fixed protrusion of the side wall or as a pivoting or sliding door. Each version has its specific advantages.
- a particularly advantageous development of the invention is the double-walled design of the side walls and bottom. This results in a particularly stable construction, high thermal insulation and an improved microclimate, in particular if an additional connection opening is produced between the inside of the box and the double-wall cavity.
- the bottom and edge of the box are designed so that several boxes, closed by the lid, can be stacked securely one above the other.
- Corresponding constructions are known for example in beverage crates.
- releasable closures are arranged on the lid and corresponding latching openings or latching lugs in the box. These closures prevent the lid from being accidentally detached from the box when the box is lifted. However, they must not hinder the floating storage of the cover on the paper stack.
- the box itself is preferably equipped with a foldable handle, which is preferably integrated in the upper edge.
- the box can remain with the end user until the sheet supply is used up. Empty boxes can then be used, for example, as waste containers for old material; z. For example, experience shows that rejects are always created when copying, which can now be immediately collected in the empty boxes and transported back to the paper manufacturer, where the waste paper is sent to the recycling process.
- the empty boxes can be collapsed.
- hinges are arranged in opposite side walls and on the abutting edges of the side walls. The number, position and orientation of these folding hinges depend on the folding mechanism used. In all cases, however, it must be ensured that the filled box is sufficiently mechanically stable and, above all, sufficiently leakproof against harmful environmental influences.
- the folding of the empty box is facilitated by a removable base that can be extended in particular on a peripheral edge in the bottom area of the box.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic, perspective representation of a first box for storing and transporting stacks of sheets
- FIG. 3 is a perspective, schematic representation of a collapsible box
- Fig. 7 shows a fourth box in front view
- Fig. 1 shows a perspective, schematic representation of a box 10, for example made of polyethylene and Intended for the transport and storage of a stack of 2500 sheets of A4 paper, for example.
- the bottom 11 is matched to the leaf surface so that the leaves can be easily filled and removed, but are not damaged during transport and storage.
- the bottom 11 and the side walls 12 of the box 10 are formed in one piece here and thus offer optimal protection against environmental influences.
- the upper edge 15 of the box 10 is expanded so that the next box can be placed here in order to be able to stack several boxes 10 securely one above the other.
- the longitudinal walls 12 of the box 10 are turned out in the central area, so that covered gripping openings 14 are formed. Thanks to the gripping openings 14, the sheets can be gripped easily, quickly and without injury and removed from the box 10.
- FIG. 2 shows a top view of a lid 1 for use with a box 10 according to FIG. 1.
- the lid 1 is designed such that it seals the open top of the box 10 as well as possible and at the same time on the sheet stack, even if it has been opened, swims.
- the cover 1 has lateral projections 4, which correspond to the opening openings 14 in the box 10.
- Atmosphere is a microclimate in the box 10, so that you can assume that the content is neither too dry nor too moist.
- the bottom 11 * of the box 10 ' 1 is first formed as a separate part and designed in such a way that it can be pushed onto one of the two circumferential edges 19 at the top and bottom of the side walls 12. Furthermore, the two end walls are divided in the middle and connected to one another via hinges 17. Further hinges 18 are located on the abutting edges between the end walls and the side walls.
- FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 show partially cut away three views of a box 10 'with lid 1 1, the bottom 11, 11' and side walls 12, 12 'are double-walled, with spacers 13 provide cavity double wall for the necessary.
- Connection openings 22 exist between the inside of the box 10 * and the double-wall cavity in the region of the gripping slots 14, which are formed by appropriate design of the inner side walls 12. In this way, the double-wall cavity not only acts as thermal insulation, but also serves for Preservation of the microclimate inside the box 10 '.
- the double side walls 12, 12 ' are connected and closed by a circumferential reinforcing edge 20.
- base 11, 11 * and side walls 12, 12 ' consist of either thin or mechanically less stable material.
- production from recycled wood or cellulose material lends itself, possibly also from other wood substitutes. These materials can be superficially blocked with wood veneer to increase stability, as is known from plywood.
- Fig. 7 shows an embodiment in which the upper peripheral edge is divided into two.
- One edge part 20.1 is firmly connected to the side walls 12.
- the other edge part 20.2 is articulated via a hinge and can be folded up as shown in the drawing, so that a handle is formed on which the box 10 'can be carried comfortably.
- FIGS. 8 and 9 show, as the last exemplary embodiment, a box 10 '' 'with side walls 12 with integrated reinforcing ribs 12'.
- the gripping slot 14 can be closed with a hinged door 24 which is connected to the side wall 12 by means of hinges 26.
- the open top of the box 10 '" is covered with a lid 1" *.
- a circumferential bottom rib 21 * enables several boxes 10 '' 'to be stacked securely one above the other.
- Transport containers take place wherever stacks of paper, foil and comparable surface products have to be transported regularly and stored until they are used up.
