Definitions
- the present invention relates to an arrangement for forming joins between mutually adjacent prefabricated structural elements.
- the arrangement is of the kind which comprises a relatively large, wheeled casting material storage container, such as a cement mixture storage container, provided with an outfeed opening.
- Floor structures are constructed in the building indus- try with the aid of prefabricated floor elements. These elements may measure 1.2 m x 6 m and are manufactured so that a gap, often a wedge-shaped gap, will be formed between mutually adjacent elements.
- the inventive ar ⁇ rangement is intended for providing a join between such floor elements and also a join between floor elements and an adjacent wall structure.
- joins can be formed, and are formed, with the aid of "concrete barrow, spade and brush” or with so-called “join forming barrows” or with the aid of "pump and hose”.
- the concrete barrow method is typical and work demand ⁇ ing.
- the work involved is both heavy and tiring, and it is often necessary to hack and grind away irregularities so as to leave a smooth surface, which is an environmen ⁇ tally unfriendly task.
- the join forming barrow which is supported on wheels and includes holes through which cement mixture is dis ⁇ claimedd, is quite common on building sites. It is operated manually, lacks hydraulics for opening and closing the cement-dispensing openings and also lacks means for guiding the barrow along a join area. It also lacks an outlet which enables join casting material to be deposited along a join between floor and wall struc ⁇ ture.
- the pump and hose method is used in conjunction with large surface areas and when conditions are favourable.
- the arrangement can be readily guided along a join; the flap or opening through which join casting material is dispensed can be opened and closed hydraulically; join casting material can be readily deposited along a floor-wall join; and the arrangement is motor driven, thereby facilitating the work concerned.
- an arrangement of the aforedescribed kind has located in the vicinity of the outfeed opening a relatively small container for dispensing join casting material which can be guided along a join and which can be adjusted between two positions, namely between a working position in which the dispensing container is located immediately beneath the discharge opening and an idle position in which the dispensing container is rotated out of its working position so as to leave the discharge opening exposed for connection to another means intended for dispensing casting material, preferably along a join between floor elements and wall structure.
- Figure 1 illustrates an inventive arrangement with the dispensing container in a working posi ⁇ tion
- Figure 2 illustrates the arrangement of Figure 1 with the dispensing container in its idle posi- tion and with a dispensing guide means en ⁇ gaged
- Figures 3-4 illustrate floor elements which terminate at a wall structure, as seen from above and from one side respectively
- Figure 5 illustrates a join between two floor ele ⁇ ments from one side.
- the device illustrated in Figure 1 includes a relatively large container 10 which contains join casting material, for instance cement, and which has an outfeed opening 11 which coacts with an hydraulically operable flap or shutter 111.
- a relatively small dispensing container 12 which can be moved between two mutually separate positions.
- the container is shown in its working position in full lines and in its the idle position in chain lines 12'.
- the dispensing container 12 is located immediately beneath the outfeed opening 11 and, when the flap 111 is open, guides the outwardly flowing join casting material to the place desired.
- a floor join between two mutually adjacent building ele ⁇ ments is indicated in Figure l.
- the dispensing container 12 is provided with a guide means 121 which projects out from the dispensing container and which guides join casting material into the spaces defined between the building elements.
- the dispensing container 12 is rotatable from its work ⁇ ing position to its idle position so as to leave the outfeed opening 11 free for connection to another means 22 for controlling the outfeed of join casting material, see Figure 2.
- the arrangement 10-11-22 is positioned for casting a join 20 between floor ele- ents and wall elements.
- the container 10 is placed on a wheeled frame which is equipped with a motor so as to enable the container to be moved easily during a join casting operation.
- the dispensing container 12 is suspended in a manner which enables it to be readily moved from its working position to its idle position, and vice versa.
- the frame, wheels, motor and suspension means have not been shown in Fig ⁇ ures 1 and 2, in order not to complicate the illustra- tion unnecessarily.
- Figure 3 illustrates parts of three prefabricated floor elements 31, 32, 33 and three wall elements 34, 35, 36.
- the joins between the elements 31-32 and 32-33 are thus cast with the aid of the dispensing container 12 in its working position, while the joins between the elements 31-34, 32-35 and 33-36 are cast with the contain ⁇ er 12 in its rest position and with the device 22 en ⁇ gaged.
- Figure 4 is a sectioned view of a join 40 between floor element and wall element
- Figure 5 is a sectioned view of a join 50 between floor elements 32-33.
- the storage container is conveniently provided with a motor-driven agitating means for agitating or stirring the casting material in the container 10, when neces ⁇ sary.
