If the drum now falls with its closure onto a hard surface, the second sealing ring is compressed to a greater extent. The seal between insert and collar is therefore also maintained in this case.

It is also important here that this material should have a low coefficient of friction with regard to the metal collar and the ' insert, in view of the great displacements which occur when they are compressed in the radial direction.

Abstract

Fût et système de fermeture associé prévu dans une paroi (1) du fût et doté d'une pièce rapportée (4) et d'un couvercle obturateur apte à s'engager dans la pièce rapportée (4). Cette dernière (4) se situe sur une collerette (11) située sur la paroi (1) du fût, tournée vers l'extérieur et dotée d'un premier rebord destiné à s'appuyer contre la face intérieure (3) de la paroi, d'un second rebord s'étendant radialement vers l'extérieur par-dessus la collerette (11), et d'une bague d'étanchéité (7) coincée entre le premier rebord et la face intérieure (3) de ladite paroi du fût. Un élément supplémentaire d'étanchéité (10), éventuellement relié à la bague d'étanchéité, est prévu entre la collerette (11) et la pièce rapportée (4) afin d'améliorer l'étanchéité.
