Abstract

To ensure the precise directional control of drilling rods (1), the invention proposes a device in which the drilling rods which transmits the pressure and torque to the bit, are surrounded by loosely fitting outer drilling rods (3). Near the bit, the outer drilling rods are fitted with an eccentric mounting (10) through which the inner drilling rods pass. Rotation of the outer drilling rods thus makes it possible to carry out any correction required to the course of the borehole. This is normally done by simply rotating the outer drilling rods from the borehole mouth. In order to determine the course of the borehole, the longitudinal inclination, transversal inclination and direction of travel of the drilling rods are measured.
