Description
DISPOSITIF ACCESSOIRE DESTINE A ATTENUER L'EBLOUISSEMENT DES PHARES DE VEHICULES VENANT EN SENS INVERSE. ACCESSORY DEVICE FOR MITIGATING THE GLARE OF VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS COMING IN reverse.
The present invention relates to an accessory device intended to attenuate the glare of the headlights of an oncoming vehicle during a crossing. This accessory can be adapted on the driver's side inside the passenger compartment along the windshield in all vehicles.
In this area of the attenuation of the headlight boiling, the tinted windshield and the lamp are known.
The device according to the invention overcomes this drawback which is glare. According to a first characteristic, it comprises a plate intended to be glued to the windshield or fixed to the vehicle upright, at the center of which is a spherical orifice in which the ball joint disposed at the end of a bent rigid arm, which allows the user to orient it in all directions. On this articulated arm slides a transparent and tinted panel; the transparency of the panel is progressive: thus the user can adjust this filtering panel in his visual field as against the headlights of oncoming vehicles.
By way of illustration, the accompanying drawings represent Figures 1A and 1B respectively of the overall, front and top views of the device in the use position, the detailed views 2 to 4. Figures A2 and 2B: a plate ( 1) intended to be glued to the windscreen (14) or fixed to the upright (13) of the vehicle, at the center of which is a spherical orifice (1A) in which a ball joint (2) fits.
A l'autre extrémité du bras (3) est disposée une butée (5).Figures 3A and 3B: a rigid, bent arm (3), at the end of which is a ball joint (2) intended to be fixed in the center of the plate (1) allowing the orientation of arms (3) in all the senses. At the other end of the arm (3) is disposed a stop (5).
Figures 4A and 4B: a transparent panel (4) which gradually filters the light from oncoming vehicle headlights. The shape of the panel (4) is trapezoidal, the base (6) of the trapezoid being fixed on the orientable arm.
The sides 7 and 8 and the top 9 are offset to the left with respect to the base (6), seen in flat, or upwards in the position of use. The transparency of the panel (4) is progressive, strongly tinted at its base, to finish slightly tinted towards the top or towards the center of the windshield when it is in the driver's field of vision.
The color of the panel can include several shades: green, orange, mauve, or other depending on the visual sensitivity of the driver.
The panel (4): its base is provided with a sheath (6) allowing it to slide while remaining braked on the orientable arm (3). This panel must be able to turn and slide on the arm (3) from top to bottom and from bottom to top, in order to allow the driver when he is in his seat to adjust it facing the headlights of oncoming vehicles, it is to say in its visual field. A tight mounting of the panel (4) on the arm (3) must allow it to remain blocked at the place where the driver has adjusted it without being able to adjust.
Locking the panel (4) in the driving position must, however, allow it to rotate on the rod (3) in the event of an impact in order to avoid injuring the driver.
The rod (3) and panel (4) assembly must be retractable in order to be raised upwards when not in use.
According to a particular embodiment, the device can have at the level of the trapezoidal panel a height between 200 and 400 mm and a base between 100 and 200 mm. An angle between the lateral sides (7 and 8) between 28 ° and 32 ° and an angle B between the lateral side and the axis of the sheath (6) between 76 ° and 79 °.
Thus, the invention relates to a device making it possible to interpose a filter facing the light rays of the headlights coming along a line of perspective facing the driver, thus making it possible to reduce the glare when driving at night and to improve safety and comfort of the conductor, essentially comprising a fixing means supporting an arm on which is articulated a transparent and filtering panel intended to be placed in the visual field of the conductor.
