Description
ANORDNUNG ZUR HALTBARMACHUNG VON ZUCKERFIGUREN ARRANGEMENT FOR THE PRESERVATION OF SUGAR FIGURES
The sugar artist forms artful figures out of sugar with the help of sophisticated techniques. These sugar figurines serve as decorations for restaurants or as exquisite gifts. The longest possible durability would be desirable in any case. But sugar is a very sensitive material. It breaks quickly when subjected to impact. It is sensitive to touch and is susceptible to atmospheric moisture which causes it to be destroyed. Unprotected, the figures only last four to five months. In order to achieve the desired longer shelf life, it is necessary to protect the figures from the harmful influences using suitable methods.
Bis jetzt waren die folgenden drei Methoden bekannt:So far, the following three methods have been known:
The figures are sprayed with a varnish (clear varnish or nugal varnish). The disadvantage of this method is that poorly accessible places cannot be covered with lacquer and are therefore not airtight. At these points, the sugar begins to flow away over time. In addition, the figures are not protected against touch and impact.
The figures are placed under a glass bell without the seam between the bell and the floor on which the figure stands being sealed. The disadvantage of this method is that over time, humidity penetrates under the glass bell and attacks the sugar.
The figures are placed under a glass bell or glass showcase without the seams being sealed. In order to prevent the accumulation of air humidity under the bell or the display case, a plate made of lime is used as the base for the figure. The moisture is through absorbs the lime. The disadvantage of this method is that the lime can only absorb a limited amount of moisture without damage. If it gets too wet, it will crumble. The figure can then no longer be transported. In addition, the figure becomes unsightly due to the lime dust that forms when it decays and settles on the sugar.
Ästhetisch befriedigt diese Methode auch deshalb nicht, weil die Materalien Zucker und Kalk einander fremd sind und ihreThis method is also not aesthetically satisfying because the materials sugar and lime are foreign to each other and theirs
Kombination störend wirkt.Combination is disruptive.
The object of the invention is to provide an arrangement for the preservation of a sugar figure in which it can be protected, in addition to contact, impact and pollution, especially against the destructive effects of atmospheric moisture.
The object is achieved according to the invention with the aid of the training features according to the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
When making the sugar figures, care is taken to ensure that the sugar is exposed to as little moisture as possible. The working room must have a humidity of 30% to 40%.
Three embodiments of the invention are possible. In the first two embodiments, a sugar plate is used as the base for the figure. In order to protect the sugar plate from below from atmospheric moisture, its underside is coated with an aluminum foil 4. In the further procedure, the two first embodiments differ as follows:
Die Nahtstelle wird ebenfalls zusätzlich mit Isolierband 4 ab¬ gedichtet .Embodiment 1 (see FIG. 1): After FIG. 6 is finished and is on the sugar plate 3, the glass bell 1 is glued to the sugar plate. The procedure is as follows: the edge of the plate is coated with glue. The bell is then placed over the edge of the sugar base covered with glue. Finally, the adhesive seam is additionally sealed by gluing insulating tape 5 on the outside. Embodiment 2 (see FIG. 2): After FIG. 6 is finished on the sugar plate 3, the edges of the sugar plate are heated with a burner until they melt. Then the glass bell 1 is placed over the plate 3. The soft plate edges adapt to the glass. The seam is also additionally sealed with insulating tape 4.
In embodiment 3 (see FIG. 3), FIG. 6 is also on a sugar plate. The sugar plate 3 does not form the bottom bottom. For this purpose, a round plate made of a material that does not let the air moisture through, such as tinplate, wood or solid cardboard, is used. The diameter of the bottom 7 is larger than that of the sugar plate. The glass bell 1 is placed on the edge of the bottom and fastened and sealed with insulating tape 5.
The arrangement according to the invention has significant advantages. The sealing achieves a shelf life of almost unlimited duration if the figures are optimally stored (no temperatures above 32 ° C, no direct radiation from the sun or lighting spots). So far, this has not been possible. The sugar figure is protected under the glass bell against bumps and touches, which it is particularly exposed to when it is shown around among its admirers. No materials are used that are foreign to the sugar, such as lime, silica gel blue or any other moisture removal agent. This gives the figure a uniform appearance and has an aesthetically better effect. Embodiment 3 also has the advantage that the glass bell is not welded or glued to the sugar base. If one wants to take the figure out of the glass bell, only the insulating tape has to be removed. No glue points or weld seams have to be loosened. The glass jar is not contaminated by glue or sugar and can easily be used again. It is difficult to clean dirty glass bells because they break very often.
