Definitions

  • the disposable cartridges used today consist of thick-walled plastic cans. Their use has grown so much that there is talk of a real waste problem and wasted material. In addition, the spray nozzles cannot be closed, so that the sealant or adhesive dries out when not in use. Special cement guns must be used to process two components, which in turn require special cartridges.
  • the packaging material required is drastically reduced.
  • the foil cartridges are used in permanent cartridges.
  • handling is greatly facilitated by the spray nozzle already attached. Show it:
  • the film cartridge 1 (FIG. 1) consists of a tube 2 made of thin, highly tear-resistant plastic film which is glued or welded to the bottom 3 of a spray nozzle 4.
  • the bottom 3 is designed as a kind of rondelle, which prevents the film cartridge from being pressed out of the hole in the cover of the permanent cartridge when it is pressed out.
  • the mass of the plastic film is negligibly small compared to the mass of the disposable cartridge used to date.
  • the spray nozzles 3 are provided with a hermetically sealing cap 5 for the first time.
  • the spray nozzle 4 has a circumferential groove 6, into which a sealing ring 7 formed on the inside of the sealing cap 5 engages.
  • the dimensions of the groove 6 and the sealing ring 7 are selected such that the sealing cap on the one hand really hermetically seals and on the other hand can be snugly fitted onto the spray nozzle 4. This prevents the putty or adhesive remaining in the spray nozzle 3 from drying out when not in use. That means Material savings, because once the putty or adhesive has dried out, it is lost. In addition, there is no laborious cleaning of clogged nozzles. Of course, there is the possibility of providing the closure cap with a type of clip with which it is captively connected to the spray nozzle. This system is used, for example, for sealing oil jugs made of plastic.
  • the diameter 8 and the length 9 of the film cartridge 1 are chosen so that they can be used for the permanent cartridges which are already common today. These dimensions can be easily modified if new, still to be developed, permanent cartridges should come onto the market in the future. The same also applies to the shaft diameter 10 of the spray nozzle, which is selected so that it can be easily passed through the bore of the screw-on cover of the permanent cartridges. It can be seen that, as with the previous nozzles of the disposable cartridges, the tip of the spray nozzle 4 is cut further forward or further back, depending on whether a thin or a wide strip is to be pressed out.
  • the film cartridge is also available with a semicircular nozzle 23 (FIG. 3).
  • this nozzle forms the emerging putty or adhesive strip into a sealing strip, the cross section of which is half a circular cross section.
  • the semicircular nozzle 23 can now be placed in a joint to be sealed in such a way that, as shown in FIG. 3a, a sealing strip which is flat with the surfaces of the processed object is produced. This process is particularly suitable for wider joints. The tedious smoothing of the putty joint is no longer necessary, which on the one hand saves time and on the other hand enables clean work. If the semicircular nozzle is turned through 180 °, it can be used to seal extremely narrow joints, for example butt joints of formwork sheets; This results in an overlapping seal, as shown in FIG. 3b, which also does not have to be reworked.
  • the semicircular nozzle is also provided with a correspondingly shaped hermetically sealing cap 5.
  • the end 11 After filling the film cartridge 1 with putty or adhesive, the end 11 is tied up or welded.
  • the foil cartridge 12 derived from the foil cartridge 1 for two components (FIG. 2), the special cement guns that have been necessary up to now can be replaced, since in most cases a cement gun with permanent cartridge is available anyway, for which the foil cartridge 11 is best suited .
  • a thinner inner film tube 14 is inserted into the outer film tube 13. The inner film tube accommodates the second component and, depending on the proportion of these components, varies in thickness from case to case.
  • the partitioning of the two components is thus perfect.
  • the inner film tube for the second component is glued or welded to the inner walls of the tube 18.
  • Special care is also taken when tying or welding the ends 11 together. It is thus helped that first the inner film tube 14 is closed and only then the outer film tube 13 in order to prevent the two components from coming into contact with one another. It is only necessary to ensure that the inner film tube 13 is securely tied or welded to the outer film tube, that is to say that the inner and outer film tubes are mechanically connected.
  • a so-called wing mixer 19 is provided. As shown in FIG. 4, this is inserted into the mixing spray nozzle.
  • the wing mixer consists of several mixer parts 20 which are lined up. The wings 21 of the individual mixer parts are offset from one another. The wing edges are also bevelled so that the wing mixer 19 can be inserted fully into the mixing spray nozzle.
  • the individual mixer parts 20 are welded to one another or provided with an axial bore so that, for example, they can be plugged onto a metal axis.
  • the mixing spray nozzle 15 is longer than the previously mentioned nozzles. This ensures that the wing mixer 19 can be built accordingly long. Thus, the way in which the two components are kneaded is long enough to achieve optimal mixing of the two components. This ensures high-quality processing of two-component putties or two-component adhesives from the outset.
  • Another greatly appreciated advantage of the long mixing spray nozzle 15 is that, above all, two-component sealants / adhesives can be sprayed very easily into bores in cavity masonry, in order to secure dowels in a safe manner. Incidentally, the mixing spray nozzle 15 is easy to clean, since the wing mixer 19 can be easily removed.
  • the film cartridges do not necessarily have to be made from highly tear-resistant film.
  • Normally resilient film can be reinforced by a cross wound thread 25.
  • the desired strength of the covering can be achieved by a favorable choice of the distance between the threads (protection against damage).
  • this also simplifies the handling of the film cartridges, since less Acfr has to be given during transport and handling. This is a significant advantage, especially for the rough conditions on construction sites.
  • the new foil cartridges are extremely versatile, especially the two-component cartridges. The reduced material requirements and the dimensions matched to the use in permanent cartridges will replace the disposable cartridges made of thick-walled plastic cans that have been used to date, and at the same time open up new areas of application.
