  • the present invention relates to a method for de ⁇ structive treatment of harmful organisms, in particular dry rot, or insects in building structures, which are infected by such organisms comprising heating of the structure to a temperature exceeding the maximum survival temperature of the organism.
  • the heating is provided by means of an oil- or gasfired heater blowing heated air into the tent enclosing the building for a period of several days. It is also known to sterilize smaller items such as hermetic packages of food by heating the complete package to a suitable pasteurizing temperature. In that connection it is known to at least partly provide the heating by means of microwawes, the package being conveyed through a closed chamber or a tunnel, in which a microwawe field sufficiently large entirely surround the package is present. Examples of such sterilisation metods are described in the European patent specification no. 152 023 and in DE-AS 20 29 792 and DE-OS 33 41 585.
