Description

APPLIANCE FOR ERECTING OF WEATHER AND/OR CAMOUFLAGE PRO¬ TECTIVE COVERAGE
The object for the invention is an appliance for erecting of a weather and/or camouflage protective coverage.
In the state of war it is of importance to prevent the enemy from discovering and destroying the disposable equip- ment, vehicles, airplanes and similar devices. The war ma¬ terial is for this reason placed in the terrain and it is tried to be covered up and protected with different kinds of weather covering and camouflage nets. The purpose is to obtain a protective coverage, which cannot be observed from the air. Generally for the purpose readily built pre- made protective coverages cannot be used, because the build¬ ing of a sufficient number of them is expensive. Presently the protective coverages are prepared by fastening the pro- tective nets in the terrain, in other words on the trees and other possible supporting structures. Generally the protective nets must be attached fairly high up on the trees, so the fastening of the protective nets is very slow One of the disadvantages is also the fact, that the shape of the in this manner formed protective coverages cannot easily be changed, which means, that they must be built permanently sufficiently high for the purpose concerned. When using the protective coverages for the airplanes they must be on every spot sufficiently high so that the air- crafts are not damaged when transferring them under the pro¬ tective coverage and out of the coverage. There are also stationary supports, on which the protective nets can be fastened, but the fastening of the protective nets on them is troublesome and the transformation of the protective coverages in accordance with the prevailing conditions and the purpose concerned is not possible.
The purpose of the invention is to bring about an appliance for erecting of a weather and/or a camouflage protective coverage, with the help of which appliance the weather and/ or camouflage protective coverages can be easily erected and with the help of which the shape of the protective coverage can be changed in a manner suitable for the pur¬ pose. Additionally the aim with the invention is to bring forth an appliance, which is simple to its structure and favourable to use and to manufacture.
The purpose of the invention is achieved with an appliance, which is characterized mainly by the facts , which have been presented in the patent claims.
In accordance with the invention to the appliance belong several, at a distance from each other positioned, in the earth attachable columns and on the columns turnably fasten¬ ed booms, which are adjustable in regard of the columns. The weather protection, and/or camouflage nets are arranged to be placed supported on the booms or on their connecting elements when the booms are turned to their lower position close to the surface of the ground. Each boom is separately adjustable to their desired position in regard of the column and the position of the booms can be easily changed with the help of the turning devices for the booms. With an ap¬ pliance in accordance with the invention the protective nets are easily spread out on top of the booms in their lower position and their connecting elements, whereafter the booms are elevated into their desired position and the protective coverage is obtained. The shape of the protective coverage can be changed for instance in accordance with the terrain or with the purpose. The booms can be turned into their uppermost possible position, when bringing in a vehicle or an airplane into the protective coverage and thereafter through changing of the positions of the booms in different kinds of positions in regard to each other achieve a protective coverage of an irregular shape, which is difficult to observe.
In the following the invention is explained more in detail by referring to the attached drawings, ir which figure 1 presents an appliance in accordance with the in¬ vention placed in the terrain seen obliquely from the above, and figure 2 presents one application of the column and the boom in accordance with the invention seen from the side,
The columns 1 and the on them turnably attached booms 2 forming the appliance in accordance with- the figure 1 are placed at a distance from each other. The distance between the columns is not a constant, but it can vary in accord¬ ance with the terrain and in order to secure an irregular shape to the portective coverage.
As presented in the figure for the camouflage of the columns camouflaging trees can be applied. Out of the columns in this application two groups of columns have been formed, which are at a distance from each other. The columns in the column groups are mainly in the formation of a line. The columns are positioned in the column groups at variable distances from the other columns' of the line and from the columns in the second line in order to secure the irregular shape of the protective coverage. In the application pre¬ sented in the figure the booms positioned in the opposite spots of the appliance are attached to each other by means of a connecting element 3, which is a wire rope or a cor¬ responding. Additionally in this application the connecting elements are supported by a connecting element 4, which is mainly attached to the connecting elements from their mid¬ point in the transverse direction, and which also is a wire rope or a corresponding.
On the figure 2 one structure of the column and of the boom has been presented. The column 1 is attached to the ground stationary and on the upper end of the column the boom 2 has been fastened turnable in the vertical direction. The boom is articulatedly jointed with the upper edge of the column and to the appliance belongs an operating mechanism 5 for the moving of the boom. The operating mechanism is in this application a hydraulic cylinder, but in other ap¬ plications also other devices suitable for the purpose can be applied. To the appliance belongs also a mechanical clamping device, which is placed -to prevent the movement of the boom below a certain lower limit.
When o-perating an appliance in accordance with the inven¬ tion the booms are transferred to their lower position close to the surface of the ground. Thereat the desired protective nets are attached supported by the booms and by their connecting elements. Underneath the booms is fastened for instance a thermal net cloth and above a camouflage net or possibly all protective nets are fasten- ed above the booms. After fixing of the protective nets the booms are elevated into their upper position, whereat the protective nets are placed finally on top of the booms and the columns. The protective coverage is ready to be taken into the use relatively quickly and with minor work. After the protective coverage is completed the booms are adjusted into different positions, for instance in positions presented in the figure 1, when the protective coverage is to its shape most irregular and it is difficult to observe. When moving the equipment into the protective coverage the booms are elevated on the required height and when the equipment is inside the protective coverage a part of the booms are lowered downwards on such spots, wehre the booms do not touch the equipment and a protective coverage of an irregular shape is achieved. The changing of the protective coverage is performed quickly when taking advantage of an appliance in accordance with the invention.
The appliance in accordance with the invention is designed and it is used for storing of different kinds of equipment as well as for protection from the weather as for camou¬ flage of vehicles, airplanes, missile stations, artillery, material stock stations. The appliance can be used for other suitable purposes as well
The invention is not limited to the presented application, but it can vary within the frames of the patent claims.
