Definitions
- the present invention concerns an apparatus for carrying out purification of the waters of large basins by oxygenation, that can be used, for example, for purifying coastlines.
- the aim of the invention is economical, efficient aeration of large bodies of water and in particular of coastlines.
- the aim has been achieved by providing for an oxygenation unit (similar to those used in aeration tanks) to be made fast to a
- sinkable craft and connected by means of tubes to a tow-boat on which are provided blowing means (compressor, blower) , for said unit to be towed by said tow-boat to the area to be purified, for it to be sunk there and for blowing to be carried out until the desired level of oxygenation is achieved, after which the craft is
- sinking can be achieved with tanks that can be selectively filled with air or water, a pump being provided in this case on the tow-boat.
- the apparatus can operate when sunk and kept immobile in the same 15. area and then be moved to another area or it can operate as it moves from one area to the next.
- the oxygenation unit essentially consists of a series of diffusers, of a simlar type to those used in purification tanks, but preferably having a greater capacity. They are connected to a 20. series of pipes that inject oxygen or air into the diffusers. The latter are supported by a craft consisting of a platform made fast to some tanks which are connected, by means of a pipe network, both to a blower or compressor and to a water pump.
- Both these devices are preferably mounted on a tow-boat where control taps are also provided for the respective valves.
- the diffusers employed are preferably similar to those described by Italian utility model No. 23601 B/86.
- Fig. 1 shows a side view of an apparatus according to the present invention during transport and operation;
- Fig. 2 shows a top view of the apparatus in figure 1 •
- Fig. 3 shows a bottom view of the sinkable craft,- 10.
- Fig. 4 shows a section of the sinkable craft taken along the line
- FIG. 5 shows an axonometric view of the same sinkable craft on tow.
- Figures 1 and 2 show an apparatus consisting of a tow-boat 1 towing a craft 2.
- a system 9 consisting of
- the towed craft 2 (shown in detail in figures 3, 4 and 5) consist of a series of diffusers 5, precisely 10 diffusers disposed in two parallel rows, supported by a platform 6, under which are joined by means of a sling 8 two elongated tanks 7 side by side.
- a pipe network 10 connects the system 9 to the
- sinkable craft 2 In this pipe network 10 the following can be distinguished: a duct 12 that connects the blower 4 to a distribution network 20 for the diffusers, a duct 11 that connects the pump 3 to one end 18 of the tanks and a duct 13, equipped with a valve means 16, that connects the opposite end 19 of the tanks to
- the tow-boat with its outlet outside the tow-boat.
- the duct 11 has a branch 14. equipped with a valve means 15, that connects it to the duct 12.
- the tow-boat 1 serves to tow the craft 2, into the tanks 7 of which air
- valve 15 is shut
- the air is simultaneously expelled through pipe 13 after passing through valve 16.
- the craft 2 is in position and can proceed to oxygenate the water.
- the blower 4 is operated with the tap 17 open: the air reaches the diffusers 5 through the distribution network 20
- the tow-boat 1 can continue its course to allow the sinkable craft 2 to operate in a wide area.
- the craft 2 is 20. re-floated by filling the tanks 7 with air (the tap 17 is shut) .
- the water inside said tanks is pushed into duct 13 and discharged through it, tap 16 having been opened.
