Abstract

Un reformeur permettant le craquage catalytique d'hydrocarbures gazeux, notamment en présence de vapeur d'eau, pour obtenir un gaz reconstitué, comporte un réservoir sous pression (1), une pluralité de tubes de craquage (2) parallèles les uns aux autres dans ledit réservoir, et un catalyseur (PK). La chaleur traversant par convection les parois des tubes et provenant d'un gaz de chauffage brûlant se transmet au gaz de traitement parcourant le catalyseur. Afin d'une part de faciliter le remplacement du catalyseur, le gaz de chauffage (HG) est guidé à travers les tubes de craquage (2') et le catalyseur (PK) est introduit dans le réservoir sous pression (1) entre les tubes de craquage sous forme de matériau en vrac, et d'autre part d'améliorer le supportage des tubes de craquage, les tubes (2') sont supportés conjointement avec le catalyseur (PK) verticalement sur une voûte (5) constituée d'un matériau céramique, pourvue de passages de gaz (5b) et délimitant un espace collecteur de gaz (9) pour le gaz reconstitué (PD). Lors de l'utilisation du reformeur comme reformeur primaire dans une installation à reformeurs primaire et secondaire, on prévoit, pour simplifier ladite installation et améliorer l'économie thermique, de disposer le reformeur primaire (PR) et le reformeur secondaire (SR) dans un seul réservoir sous pression (19) et d'acheminer au reformeur primaire, en vue du chauffage par convection de ce dernier, le gaz reconstitué (PD) quittant le reformeur secondaire (SR).
