Abstract

Un support d'enregistrement magnétique (20A) ainsi que des systèmes d'enregistrement magnétique utilisant un tel support incorporent un réseau optique de transmission de lumière (22A), dont l'extension correspond au moins à celle de la zone d'enregistrement magnétique (16, 16A). Un second réseau optique de transmission de lumière (322) est associé au transducteur magnétique ou à la tête de lecture/écriture (302A, 302B). Un dessin moiré est produit par la lumière transmise au travers des deux réseaux optiques, et des modifications dans le dessin moiré résultant des changements d'alignement des réseaux optiques dus au mouvement de la tête de lecture/écriture par rapport au support sont utilisées pour produire des informations d'asservissement dans le but de maintenir le transducteur magnétique aligné avec la piste magnétique. Des capacités d'enregistrement magnétique plus élevées peuvent être obtenues en utilisant de tels systèmes et supports, étant donné qu'aucune zone d'enregistrement magnétique n'est utilisée à des fins d'information d'asservissement.
