Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a aparato para usarse con un medio de registro magnético, del tipo que comprende un medio de registro magnético transmisor de luz, que comprende un soporte transparente, una capa continua transmisora de luz, de material de registro magnético, llevada en uno o ambos lados del soporte transparente; llevando también el soporte transparente una retícula óptica, transmisora de luz, por lo menos sustancialmente coextensiva con el área sobre la cual están registradas pistas magnéticas; caracterizado dicho aparato porque comprende: una cabeza de lectura/escritura; medios para situar un medio de registro magnético, del tipo mencionado, en relación de lectura/escritura con la cabeza de lectura/escritura y para mover el medio de registro magnético en relación con la cabeza de lectura/escritura, para generar señales de lectura/escritura; medios fotodetectores adaptados para proveer una señal eléctrica, como una función de la luz incidente sobre ellos; incluyendo los medios fotodetectores una retícula óptica transmisora de luz, de referencia, adaptada, en combinación con la retícula óptica en el medio de registro magnético, para proveer un patrón detectable por los medios fotodetectores; estando adaptados los medios fotodetectores para proveer señales eléctricas indicativas de la luz incidente sobre ellos; una fuente luminosa, situada para proyectar luz a través del medio de registro magnético a los medios fotodetectores; medios para comparar los cambios en las señales eléctricas como una función de los cambios en el patrón, en respuesta al movimiento relativo de las retículas ópticas con respecto a l retícula óptica en el medio de registro magnético; y servo-medios para cambiar la posición de la cabeza de lectura/escritura en respuesta a los cambios en el patrón mencionado, para mantener la cabeza de lectura/escritura de alineación con una pista magnética seleccionada.
