Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a rotating magnetic head, by performing the reproduction of information signals form a recorded magnetic tape through tracing of patterns on a magnetic tape copied on a copying member with a minute optical spot. CONSTITUTION:A recording trace pattern is copied to a copying member 2 by making the copying member 2 with a photomegneto effect closely contacted with a magnetic tape 1. The light beam from a laser light source 5 is polarized into a straight line with a polarizer 7 as thick parallel rays through a beam expander 6 consisting of convex lenses 6a, 6b. The light is deflected at a photo deflector 4 via a beam splitter 8, collected to a convex lens 3 and draws a linear trace on the copying member as minute optical spot.
