Definitions

  • the present specification relates to a novel and original automatic apparatus that performs three functions which will undoubtedly be very useful and servicible in a large variety of localities, particularly where it is highly necessary to practise hygiene, for example, in hospitals, doctor's and dentist's clinics and consulting rooms.

  • the design comprises a command panel (1) divided into three parts, the first part to operate the nozzle (2) that releases the soap, the second (3) to let out water and the third (4) to release the antiseptic, all three nozzles being coupled by means of screwing to the cast faucet (5).
  • plastic containers (6) and (7) Fixed to the side walls of the apparatus are plastic containers (6) and (7), respectively for the soap and anti-septic, to which are connected water pumps (8) and (9) driven by two 12 volt motors interlinked to an AC/DC transformer by means of plugs (11) and (12) and wires (13) and (14) which converts voltage from 110 or 220 to 12 volts DC; the containers (6) and (7) are connected to the faucet (5) by cylindrical plastic pipes (15) through which the liquid flows.

  • the third pair consists of wires (19) and (20) which are connected to solenoid valve (17); and the fourth pair comprises wires (21) and (22) with plugs (23) connected up at the power intake.

  • the other important component of the command panel (1) is the transformer (10) which converts the eletric current from 110/220 volts AC to 12 volts DC, that is, converting alternating current to direct current, thereby putting into operation the pumps (8) and (9) driven by two 12 volt motors.
  • the two outer sections of the command panel are those that operate pumps (8) and (9) by means of wires (13) and (14), the wire (13) being connected to micro-switch (23) and wire (14) inter-connected with the collector-transformer (10).
  • micro-switches are to interrupt or disconnect the supply of eletricity to avoid the transformer (10) being left in continuous operation , thereby effecting a considerable economic saving of eletricity.
  • Each section on the Panel (1) has one switch for connecting and disconnecting the Power supply to the transformer (10) and another for switching on and off the supply from the transformer to the pumps (8) and (9). Both switches on each panel must out of economic necessity operate simultaneously to complete the cycle.
  • the third section consists of a micro-switch (27) connected to the solenoid valve (17) by wires (19) and (20) that by foot operation, connect and disconnect the input of electric power, inasmuch as wire (19) goes to micro-switch (27) and wire (20) goes to the power supply which completes the operation. By this process the current is disconnected when the foot is withdrawn.
  • micro-switches have a connecting wire to operate the pump, as already mentioned, with the exception of micro switch (27) which interlinks the supply to the solenoid valve (17) the other wire being used to cut-off the power supply; all the other wires which are attached to the transformer (10) serving the same purpose, namely making the connection to micro-switches (23), (24), (25) and (26) by means of wires (28), (29), (30), and (31), respectvely.
  • the first section of the command panel (1) on being operated by foot will start the pump (8) which will pump the soap through the plastic tube (15) into the faucet (5) after which it is ejected through the nozzle (2).
  • the water enters by check valves (16) passes by the solenoid valve (17) and flows through to the faucet (5), where it is poured out of nozzle (3).
  • the third section will operate pump (9) providing the anti-septic in a like manner which is ejected through nozzle (4).
