W. B. WEEDEN. FANCY CASSIMERE. No. 9,901. Patented April 10. 1877.
STYLE 4' WI NESSES INVENTOR UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE WILLIAM B. \VEEDFN, ()F PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, ASSIGNOH TO THE W'EYBOSSET MILLS, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR FANCY CASSIMERES.
Specification forming partof Design No. 9,901 dat d April 10, 1877; application tiled March 26, 1577. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM B \VEEDEN, ot' the city and county of Providence, and State of hhode Island, have invented a new and useful Design for Fancy Uassinieres; and 1 do hereby declare that the following specification, taken in connection with the drawing making a part of the same, is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
The effect of my novel design will be apparent from an inspection of the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made, said effect being produced by the alternation of iongitudinal stripes of a character as hereinafter described.
The fabric is divided into broad longitudinal stripes A and B, of nearly equal width. the plaiuly-- woven stripe A being shaded by broken longitudinal lines of a different color than the ground of the fabric, the lines shading onehalt', a, of said stripe being fine and but slightly removed from each other, while those shading the other half, a, are heavier and farther apart.
The stripe B is the color of the ground of the fabric, and is plainly woven, with the ex ception of its central portion, through which runs a line, I). of corded weaving, having short bars projecting from it in a diagonal direction.
The fabric may be woven in any preferred variety or combination of colors for giving effect to the design above described, the dis tinctive character of which is a stripe shaded by broken longitudinal lines, in combination and alternation with a plain stripe having a narrow line or stripe of fancy weaving through its central portion, as described and shown.
\Vhat 1 claim is---- The design for fancy cassinieres, substantially as herein described, and represented in the drawing.
\VILLIAM B. W E E DEN.
