DESIGN FOR WOOLEN FABRICS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 9,489, dated September 5, 1876 application lilcd August 21, 1876. [Term of Patent 7 years] To all rwhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID L. EINSTEIN, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Design for Woolen Fabric, of which the following is a specification The nature of my design is fully shown in the accompanying illustration, in which- Figure l represents a top View, and Fig. 2 a vertical transverse section, of the fabric made with my design, and in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The invention has reference to an improved design for woolen and other fabrics; and consists mainly of a palm leaf, whose outline is produced of raised spots or dots, and whose interior or body is arranged with raised parallel bars.
In the drawing, A represents the body of the fabric, which is carded, to present a soft appearance. On the body or ground are dispersed, in diagonal or other direction, rows of palm leaves, B, which are produced by a series of dots or spots, C, forming the outline of the leaf, and of a number of parallel bars, D, that fill up the interior or space. inclosed by the outer dots. The. dots (j, as well as the hars D, are raised from the soft ground, as shown'in the section, Fig. 2.
I am aware that the design and configuration of a palm-leaf has been used heretofore for printed and woven fabrics, und I, therefore, do not claim the same broadly; but the arrangement of palm-leaves formed of raised dots and bars I consider new and not heretofore in use.

The design for woolen fabrics, composed ot' rows ot' palm-leaves, made of raised dots or Spots forming the outline, and raised parallel bars filling np the interior of the leaves, substantially as shown and described.
