JOIN GLEN, OE BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A PRINTED FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,080, dated July 25, 1882.
Application filed May 18, 1882. Term of patent years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN GLEN, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Printed Fabrics; and I do hereby declare that the following specification, taken in connection with the accompanyingillustration, forming` a part ofthe same, is a full, clear, and exact description thereof'.
My design'relates particularly to printed fabries known as calicoes, although it is equally applicable to silks, woolens, and other fabrics, either printed or woven.
It consists in the representation of birds, leaves, and flowers, as will hereinafter appear.
Referring to the illustration, A A' represent a pair of birds in a standing position, which aie partially surrounded by leaves B and flowers C. Combined with and preferably of a ditlerentcolorfrom said leaves are otherleaves, D, and a flowering spray, E; but the latter leaves and the spray may be omitted, if de sired. The birds, leaves, and owers are repeated upon the surface of the fabric to form the pattern.
The fabric may be produced in any preferred variety or combination of colors for giving to the design a desirable eect.
Vhat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for printed and other fabrics, consisting of birds partially surrounded by leaves B and ilowers C, substantially as set forth. n
2. The design for printed and other fabrics, consisting of birds partially surrounded by leaves B and flowers O, combined with leaves D and spray E, substantially as described and shown.
