Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN GLEN, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A PRINTED FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,351, dated October 24, 1882.
Application filed September 26, 1882. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN GLEN, of Brooklyn, Kings county, in the State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Printed Fabrics; and I do hereby declare that the following specification, taken in connection with the accompanying illustration, forming a part of the same, is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
My design relates particularly to printed fabrics known as calicoes, although it is equally applicable to silks, woolens, and other fabrics, either printed or woven.
It consists in the representation of loose leaves and flowering sprays, as willhereinafter appear.
Referring to the illustration, A represents a leaf, and B a flowering spray, both being arranged loosely on the ground of the fabric, upon which they are repeated to form the pattern. The pattern may be formed, however,
by repeating the leaf A or by repeating the flowering spray B.
The fabric may be produced in any preferred variety or combination of colors .for giving a 25 desirable effect to the design.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for printed and other fabrics, consisting of the leaf A, substantially as set 0 forth.
2. The design for printed and other fabrics, consisting of the flowering spray B, substantially as set forth.
3. The design for printed and other fabrics, 5 consisting of the leaf A and flowering spray B, substantially as described and shown.
JOHN GLEN.
