DESIGN FOR A SAMPLE CARD.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,281, dated June 29, 1897. Application filed April 10, 1897. Serial No. 631,629. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ARTHUR W. CLAPP, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Sample Card, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 is a plan View of asample card in which my design is embodied, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.

The sample card is divided so as to present a series of panels, and in each of the panels the semblance of a spool of silk or a reel of ribbon or a roll of Woven fabric is made to appear. In each of the panels a circle 10 is made, together with a smaller and concentric circle 11, simulating the head of a spool or a reel. Adjacent to the concentric circles a curved and concentric line 13 is drawn, and at a distance from the said line 13 a similar line 14 is produced, the two lines 13 and 14 being connected at top and bottom by straight lines 15, the space within the said lines 13 and 14 and 15 being so shaped or so designed as to create an impression of a cylindrical surface 12, and the said space represents the body portion of a reel, spool, or roll.
