DESIGN FOR NUBIAS.

Be it known that I, JAMES Parres, of the citf,T and county of Philadelphie, and State of Pennsylvania, have originated and designed a Pattern for Nnbins, ot' which the following is a. full, clear, and exeet description, reference being had to the accompanying photographic illustration, nin-king a part of this specificetion.
The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, in Which- Figure 1 represents the nnbia, opened ont, to ebow the tignred frontend plein beck 5 end Fig. 2, the appearance oi the nubin when the front and back are folded together.
My design consists of a, double-ribbed nubia, made in two parts, one of which is plain knitted Work, and the other figured on the face.
The part A, which is the front or face of the fabric, is iignred with heavier threads,rep resenting loops intertwined with the knitted work. These loops ere arranged to form strips, running lengthwise with the fabric, et an equal distance apn-rt, with the double-rib stitch showing between them.
The part B, which forms the background, consists entire!)y of plein knitted Work, and is folded to give a heavier appearance to the figured pert A.
What I claim es my invention is- A design for a nubin, with a. background of plain knitted work, and the front or fece figured with heavier three-ds, representing small loops intertwined with the knitted Work, and arranged to form parallel strips lengthwise with the fabric, ns shown and described.
