DESIGN FOR KNITTED TRIMMING FOR UNDERWEAR.
Specification for Design.
Patented July 21, 1914:.
Application filed May 8, 1914. Serial No. 837,338. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, MAX N. AARON, a citizen or" the United States, residing in Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Knitted Trimming for Underwear, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part thereof.
The trimming shown in the accon'ipanying design is especially adapted and intended for application to underwear, although it is also applicable to other garments.
The figure is a plan View of a number of repeats of a trimming embodying my design.
The main features of the trimming are the ribbon-bar section a having the fluted upper edge, in conjunction with the beading or hem stitch efiect Z). The ribbon-bar section comprises a number of spaced-apart pillar bars interlaced at the upper edge, by means of a chain thread, with a longitudinally eX- tending thread forming the fluted effect above mentioned. The lower reversely curved portions of the pillar bars are interlaced, by means of chain threads, with the beading or hem stitch effect, which presents the appearance of a row of rings or loops. Below these rings or loops is a finer open work mesh 0 comprising longitudinal chain threads and fine cross threads. The ribbon bar section affords means to receive a ribbon of normal width, while the bearing ailords means to receive a narrower ribbon it desired.
I claim The ornamental design for knitted trimming for underwear as shown and described.
In testimony of which invention, I have hereunto set my hand, at Philadelphia, on this 5th day of May, A. D. 1914.
