Description

Dec. 13, 1932. N. M. BAkER 0% 88,618 0 OPHTHALMIC MOUNTING Filed March 18. 1932 IN VEN T OR BY flelson IILBakez:
Patented Dec. 13, 1932 UNITED STATES Des. 88,618
PATENT OFFICE NELSON M. BAKER, OF SOUTHBBIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO AMERICAN OPTICAL COMPANY, OF SOUTHBR-IDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, A VOLUNTARY ASSOCIA- TION OF MASSACHUSETTS DESIGN FOR AN OPHTHALMIC MOUNTING Application filed March 18, 1932.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NELSON M. BAKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at 'Southbridge, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for an Ophthalmic Mounting, of which the following is a specification, reference being made to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
Figure I is a front elevation of an ophthalmic mounting showing my new design;
Figure II is a front perspective view of the same;
Figure III is a detail view of a section of the eyewire used in this design;
Figure IV is a plan view of the same, but showing only fragments of the temples.
The rims and the bridge of this mounting are made of a wire having its exposed corners cutaway or grooved as shown in detail Serial No. 43,226. Term of patent 14 years.
in Figure III, so as to give the various portions of the frame a slender and pleasing ap pearance. The bridge member is formed with a prominent narrow portion of its arch set forward, and with the inwardly sloping lower portions of its side posts prominently placed, while the wider parts of the bridge member are set back so as to be less prominent, thereby causing the bridge to appear to be narrower than it actually is, and to give the frame as a whole a well tailored and ornamental appearance. The end pieces are curved to the rear as shown, and are secured to the rims in any well known position.
I claim:
The ornamental design for an ophthalmic mounting substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof, I aflix my signature.
NELSON M. BAKER.
