ATTORNEY Patented June 21, 1932 UNITED STATES Des. 87,189
PATENT OFFIUE NELSON M. BAKER, OF SOUTHBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNOR TO AMERICAN OPTICAL COMPANY, OF SOUTHBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, A VOLUNTARY ASSOCIA- TION OF MASSACHUSETTS DESIGN FOR AN OPHTHALMIC MOUNTING Application filed October 19, 1931. Serial No. 41,427.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NELSON M. BAKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Southbridge, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Ophthalmic Mountings, of which the following is a specification, reference being made to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
Fig. I is an enlarged perspective View of an ophthalmic mounting showing my new design;
Fig. II is a sectional View taken on line A-A of Fig. I and looking in the direction indicated by the arrows.
One of the features of the design is that the end pieces and the top of the bridge member lie substantially in the same plane and produce a pleasing streamline effect from ear to Term of patent 14 years.
ear when the mounting is in place on the face of the wearer. Another feature is the various pleasing bends and angled faces of the bridge and end piece members which, when light impinges thereon and is reflected in different directions, produces an effect similar to that of the facets of a precious stone. The proportions and shapes of the various parts are carefully harmonized to produce a pleasing effect.
The dotted lines of the drawing merely show the association of the design when in use.
I claim:
The ornamental design for an ophthalmic mounting substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof, I aifix my signature.
NELSON M. BAKER.
