UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHRISTIAN IIERTER, OF NE YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A BRACKET.
Specification forming part of Design No. 8,695, dated October 5, 11-475 application filed August 27, 1875. [Term of Patent 3% years] To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, CHRISTIAN HERTER, of the city of New York, N. Y., have invented a Design for a Bracket, of which the following, is a specification:
The illustration discloses the nature of design.
A is a wall-plate of any appropriate shape, from near the top of which spring-s a horizontal pipe, that is connected at right angles with a second horizontal pipe, B, at the ends of which are the vases G. Dis an ornamental sumiorting-piece, that has the upper ends of its frame (I carried over the pipe B, its lower part being reduced toward a point, and inclined inward and secured to the lower end of the WalLplate. The piece 1) is an open-work design of a vine and flowers, being a modifi cation of a design which I have described and claimed in an application for Letters Patent of the United States, which I have prepared and filed, and which said design I do not therefore claim herein.
The vases (J are mounted in forms and adapted to present the cnsmnble of inverted colloids. Their upper parts terminate in pipes which are supplied with globe-rests and globes of any appropriate shape.
I prefer to make the caps or vases of Japanese or Chinese ware, and mount them in metallic forms; but I do not consider the colors of the material selected an essential ele ment of the design.
hat I claim as my invention and production, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A design for a bracket or gasalier, in which a cup or vase, of the shape shown, is mounted in a form, and employed snbstan tially as specified.
2. A design for a bracket, substantially as shown.
\Vitness my hand this 21st day of August, A. D. 1875.
CHRISTIAN HERTER.
