Cutlery-Handles.
tented Nov. 17,1874.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAMES I). FRARY, OF NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO LANDERS, FRARY 85 CLARK, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR CUTLERV-HANDLES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 7,862, dated November 17, 1874; application filed November 0, I874 [Term of Patent 7 years] CASE 1).
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES I). FRARY, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Cutlery l'iandlc; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the let ters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent a side view of a knife.
This invention relates to a design for the handle for table-cutlery, here represented as for a knife; but it will he understood that the design applies to forks and other articles of table-service, the design having special reference to the bolster and tip! The design consists in the peculiar ornamentation of the bolster and tip together or separately, and as shown in the accompanying illustration.
A is the bolster, the surface of which is ornamented with a spear-head shaped figure running from the bolster to the body of the handle, as shown in the illustration. B is the tip, its surface ornamented with a figure corresponding to that of the holster, and in like manner running into the body of the handle, as shown.
The holster and tip may he used together in the same handle, or separately, each with different tip or bolster, as the case may be. I therefore do not confine my design to the eonr hination of the tip and holster in the same handle; but
I claim The design for cutlery-handle, consisting of the spear-head shaped ornament on the holster and tip, together or separately, as shown and described.
JAS. I). FRARY.
