Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
J AMES D. FRARY, OF NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO LANDERS, FRARY & CLARK, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR CUTLERV-HANDLES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 7,860, dated November 17,1874; application filed November 6, 1874. [Term of Patent 7 years] CASE B.
To all whom it may concern:
Bc it known that I, JAMES D. FRARY, of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Cutlery-Handle; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying1 drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the saine, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent a side View of a knife.
This invention relates to a design for the handles for table cutlery, here represented as for a knife; but it will be understood that the design applies to forks and other articles of table-service, the design having special reference to the bolster and tip.
The design consists in the peculiar ornamentation of the bolster and tip, together or separately, and as shown in the accompanying illustration.
A is the bolster, on the surface or side of which is the representation of a spade, shown in solid black; B, the tip, the sides of which are ornainented with the figure ot' a spade, corresponding to that on the holster, as shown.
The bolster and tip may be used together on one handle, as shown, or a different tip with this bolster, or vice versa. I therefore do not confine my design to the combination of the holster and tip in thc saine handle.
I claim as my invention- The design for cntlery-ha1nlle, consisting of the spade-shaped ornament on the bolster and tip, together or separately, as shown and described.
JAS. D. FRARY.
