UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE ROBERT W. ARCHER AND GEORGE W. ARCHER, OF ROCHESTER, NEXV YORK.
DESIGN FOR FOOT-RESTS FOR BARBERS' AND DENTiSTS CHAIRS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,647, dated May 13, 1873; application flied April 30, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, Ronnnr W. ARCHER and GEORGE W. ARCHER, of the city of Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented a new Design for the Foot-Rests of Barber and Dental Chairs; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same:
This design has relation to a foot-rest having a vertical and horizontal length at right angles to each other, and two feet at the extremities of the horizontal length on each side.
A is the vertical, and B the horizontal, length, which stand at right angles to each other, and are supported by feet a a at the extremities of the horizontal length. Besides the advantages of this form, it presents a graceful appearance, as the two lengths are of about the same extent and look much better than where the vertical length only is used with feet at the bottom near together, or where a box or platform is employed as the support. The lengths and also the legs are ornamented at their edges with offsets or rosettes b b and ornaments c c on the fronts. The platform or foot-board D has in front a central convex swell, f, with eoncaves g g at the ends, as shown, which improves the appearance.
\Vhat we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design, in a foot-rest of barber and dental chairs, of the vertical and horizontal lengths A B, as herein shown and described.
2. The design of the swell f and concaves g g of the platform D, as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof we have hereunto signed our names in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ROBERT W. ARCHER. GEORGE XV. ARCHER.
