SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,251, dated September 15, 1885.
Appliution flled June 16, 1885. Term of patent '1 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THEODORE A. KooHs, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Arm -Rest Supports, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein to the accompanying drawing.
My invention relates to a design for bnrbers and other like chairs.
The invention consists of the representation ofsn elephanbhead, such representation forming a part of the front uprights of the arms of the chair.
In the accompanying illustration I have shown a barber-chair and foot-rest in perspective.
The general form and appearance of the chair may be of any suitable design; and my invention relates only to the design of the front uprights of the arms of the chair.
As represented in the accompanying illustration, each of these uprights is curved, and
at its upper end designed to representthe head of an elephant. The representation herewith made shows the elephants trunk as resting upon the lower portion or base of the upright; but it will be understood that Irlo no wish to confine myself to such an arrangement, as it might be'slightly changed without departing from the invention.
In the accompanying illustration, A represents the chair; B. the foot-rest; C, the chairarms; I), the front uprights therefor; E, the elephant-head; F, the trunk, and G the tusks.
\Vhat I claim is- A design for arm-rest supports, which consists of a curved upright and the representation of an elephant head, the trunk resting upon the curved uprights, as set forth.
In testimony whereof Iaflix my signature in presence of two witnesses,
THEODORE A. KOCHS.
